On the topic of builds encroaching on Gem's and Etho's area, since you are going for a Steampunk-ish style, and Gem is referencing Dredge, for buildings closer to Gem maybe you can build with corruption/pollution template, and towards Etho since he is in a jungle, an overgrown abandoned factory template. Just a suggestion to organically merge the bases!

May have said this before Tango but seriously try some one a day hay-fever tablets. Whenever I get a cold I'm left with a persistent cough. One lasted for close to a year, had lung function tests at doctors and hospital, was given several courses of antibiotics and nothing helped. Taste tested some of my sons proton to see what it tasted like and could actually breathe for the first time in ages. Got some tablets and the cough was gone in a week. My theory being, coughing irritates the throat, you produce mucus that instigates a cough to clear the throat. The tablets stop the mucus breaking the cycle. Worth a try for the sake of like 3 quid.

27:40 dude, one if my first memories of Minecraft as a itty bitty kid in 2013 or 2014, was watching my older brother play from my uncles Xbox. He looked over to an overhanging cliff in the jungle that was pitch black under, with the slow pan of Xbox controls, and we saw the two glowing eyes and we were all spooked, suddenly it starts popping around teleporting loudly and jumpscared us before disappearing. He quit the that game for the day 😅 it really imprinted into my memory, like my first time getting spooked by a bee landing on me, settled that fear in forever. So uh, I played on peaceful like 5 years after that and still jump out of my skin when anything happens despite the countless hours watching the game over the decade lol

I was introduced to MineCraft by a friend that saw a reddit post about it. I bought and downloaded it for 99 SEK from a website which I assume was Mojang. My account was created 2010-08-16 during the Alpha version. I remember mining redstone and had no idea what it was for. I had a single player world and later my friend and I also joined a server on which we each recieved a plot from a moderator that only we could build and make changes inside of. It was pretty much the size of a chunk and other people had plots there too, my friend was the neighbour across the street. I wish I remember what server it was. Ah the memories and nostalgia this game gives me is absolutely amazing. I remember caving and then a song starts playing. I'm exploring, mining, crafting and surviving. I'm the conqueror of these lands. This is my story.

I've also noticed the iron golems in my world behaving weirdly. They'd glance at a zombie for a moment, take a micro step forward and then look away. Then see the zombie for a split second and loop the entire thing

The bib and straps on the bee hat are to wrap under the arms so as to make it harder for bees to get inside the veil/hat because it is tucked in to the bee suit (typically coveralls with elastic bands at the wrists and ankles). Bees can still find their way into veil or suit, but out of the tens of thousands of bees only 2-3 might maybe possibly make their way into the protective gear. And no a bee can NOT rip its way through the veil.

I got minecraft when it was the "indev" version. I remember the days of finite worlds, where you had to select the world size from a set of options and the biggest one was only about 200 blocks long. I remember nether portals not working in multi-player for years, and 90% of the public servers were "museum servers" with thousands of players on them just exploring the builds, teleporting between worlds by means of water portals. I remember when the only redstone components in the game were dust and torches, and building my first AND gate. Or when the only way to speed up a minecart was to run another minecart alongside it and they would glitch and pick up speed. Or when the first lighting update came in and we had the option of smooth lighting. People mentioned pistons but I was playing minecraft for like 5 years before pistons were introduced haha. That was always seen as a modded thing. I love how far the game has come but I have such nostalgia for those early days.

For the floor of the factory I’d personally recommend soul soil instead of soul sand, because if someone visits who doesn’t have soul speed or you respawn and don’t have your boots then they’ll be a lot slower

tango: for the iron farm, I struggled with the villagers even seeing the zombie with the design y'all used, so I switched to a redstone-toggleable method with full blocks that can be pushed down to block LOS, and that has given me better rates. I also got annoyed with it and have been working on a 13-wide chamber design with 4 vills per cell that seems to be even better

Re alpha / early beta. I remember when redstone didn’t do anything. It was just a useless ore you could mine. There was also only one type of tree. A copy of the game in pre alpha cost 2 pounds and was supposed to be perpetual.

I was a Paul Soares Jr. Survive and Thrive baby. ^_^ I didn't take minecraft seriously at first - was just learning to play so I could play it with the kids I babysat. But I quickly became so addicted. I was TERRIFIED of endermen when I started playing the game. My first bases were all only two blocks tall so I'd never have the HORROR of having an enderman inside of my own home. Man, my first world was so funny. I had a raised railroad that traveled all over the world. I kept under estimating how deep I had to mine to find diamond. It took me forever to screw up the courage to go into the nether and then my FIRST portal opened up directly into a nether fortress. Good times, lol.

Tango will likely never see this but wonder if his cough is allergy / asthma related? I can get a persistent cough during allergy season and the coughing itself exacerbates and persists it. Might also be why he feels fine otherwise. Maybe if he addressed the asthma with a bronchodilator, maybe a steroid longer term, it would stop.

My early Minecraft was age six, right after 1.3 came out in snapshots. I’d asked my dad what it was, then very quickly ended up playing much more than he did. I originally learned with the PSJ Survive and Thrive series- anything after 1.4 still feels vaguely like “the new stuff” to me. I think I got from there to etho and then to the mindcrack server (specifically via etho’s perspective of the first edition of the von sway prank) and a few other people, and fell off watching stuff around three years after that. Did keep vaguely following etho though, and in the past month and a half backwarched everything since the end of when I last was fully caught up some nine or ten years ago, and recently came over to tango as a result after I ran out of backlog.

While I love the permits and the new dynamics they bring to the server, it's clear that it delays quite a few things for the would be customers. For example Doc has a shulker farm ready to go, because of course he has, but people need to wait for the permit holder to open their business. Gonna take a while until the people who don't focus on hyper efficient farming have the goods ready, but then again I love how Doc now has some rules he can't break like the fabric of Minecraft.

Fairly sure the golems were stopping when the aggro switched from you (the player) to them - if the pillagers’ aggro is on the player, the golems will attack, but as soon as the pillagers’ aggro changes to the golem they just don’t fight back

For your base and the soulsand/soil, because the soil takes down the durability so quickly on the boots: you could have little patches of boost areas around your base, kind of like Mario Cart boost jumps/speed boosts. That would be really cool to incorporate/build around! TLDR; Mario speed raceway + steampunk + fully automated + factory Sorry to drop this bomb on you right before vacation! Haha 😂 have a good one. @Tango... I hope your cold and cough are getting better. I have a genetic disease that makes me cough 24/7, so I sympathize. It is one of the many reason I do not talk in my art videos or attempt to stream. I was never over concerned of how others saw my cough until covid stuff kicked off, and I was made more aware of it than in my 40 years of life. Ehh... is what it is, and hope you get over yours soon. Coughing is exhausting, but others reminding you of it like you're aware is even more exhausting.

Not to restart drama but the inciting incident for the fall of Mindcrack (and the rise of Hermitcraft) was that Guude wanted everyone on that server to sign contracts and officially commit to Mindcrack (I forget the specifics. It contracts were definitely involved). Some of the bigger fish weren’t comfortable with that so Etho, Doc, Beef, and Bdubs all eventually migrated over to Hermitcraft (which at the time was the second most popular smp)

you can make a custom model for the shulker box used in the mail system ( tbh, not 100% that is possible for shulker boxes, never used custom models), and make an agreement to hermits avoid using them out side of it
