I wish I could write this intro in Bangla, but my computer keyboard does not allow me to do that. Moreover, in case any non-Bengali individual ever comes across this music/ video, he/ she might better understand what this song is all about if the description is in English.
In Bengal, we call these type of songs - ‘Agomoni’. A song, that heralds the home-coming of the Mother Goddess from her lofty home in the high Himalayas. It is among the most beautiful examples of the domestication of a God, who is omnipotent and omniscient and yet simultaneously belongs to the realm of the microcosmic mundane household, as much to the macrocosmic celestial dimensions. Going into a more detailed explanation of this unique philosophy is beyond the scope or intent of this space.
For now, it is just an invocation and an invitation to the goddess by an ordinary mortal, spellbound by her divine and cosmic beauty.
