Pain and Stain are really similar, especially since the story of Naruto and My Hero are very similar. Both Pain and Stain have understandable philosophies that many antagonists follow. The names also rhyme. They kill off a character a main character admires and that causes a main character to fight. The main characters eventually defeat Stain and Pain. On their deathbed/arrest, they both believe the main characters are true heros and can achieve true peace.
