One way my family is help with relief today is by donating supplies to our local high school: so many children are going to be displaced because of Harvey that they very well may end up having to do their school year in a new school district. Also, thanks so much GMM for sending love to Texas! I may have not been in the area of devastation but the whole state has been affected one way or another, whether it be gas shortages or grocery shortages. My region and the other regions of Texas have been doing their best to help out the coast but we do need help with our effort, so thank you so much for raising awareness and offering easy ways to donate to help relief. It's so sad to me that something like this has to happen in order for us to care about one another. I agree that when we come together, we achieve great things. It just seems like the only time we really solidify as one nation is in the midst of total devastation. Afterwards, we seem to forget that we each are one small part of an entire country. For the last six years or so the forest fires have gotten so much worse it seems. I hike a lot, and every year various popular hiking areas burn down here in Oregon and Washington. The Gorge fire isn't even close to being the worse one in the last five years or this year, but it is the most "local" to my homecity, Portland. In 2015, a 50,000 acre fired burned up the east side of Mt. Adams. In 2012, a 20,000 acre fire burned up the west side of Mt. Adams, making the mountain 75% burned. The Three Sisters Wilderness is now completely burned as of this summer, almost 100%. Mt. Hood is 30% burned. Mt. Jefferson is now almost 80% burned around it's perimeter. I never remember seeing this much fires before. It is so sad.

Hurricane Harvey really did show to all of us that when something happens we really come together. I am thankful it didn't flood inside my house but it did come close. If you were to drive around some neighborhoods around us you come see actually how many people got flooded and it's really very sad. I have been helping out at my church where we give people food and other needs. I really appreciate all the support that the whole US has done to help everyone who suffered from Harvey.

We love the plunger guy! I and my wife watched that a lot in the middle of all the rain. It helped to lighten the mood. Thankfully our home didn't flood but we know several others who weren't so lucky. Thank you so much for making this video and donating to the relief here. I wish the fires up here were getting as much news as the hurricanes... it's effecting everything from southern washington down to northern california. x.x the smoke has been so bad here it's been insane. We're just south of the chetco bar fire (170,000 acres and counting).

Im down in Crescent City CA, 20 miles away from the chetco bar fire and it's been really bad down here. they have almost no containment on it and they've given up on trying to put it out. Their focus is on keeping brookings, oregon from burning. x.x

I live near Cleveland which is just outside of Houston. We had to get evacuated from our home. The whole experience was like nothing I've ever been through. I saw streets turned to basically rivers. Houses and cars damaged beyond repair. Most importantly I saw the most kindness I ever seen in one area ever. People took their personal boats to save others. I saw lines of donations at churches. I saw that Texas friendliness is a real thing. If there is anything positive from all this it's that kindness still exists!
