I like how the good and evil factions are reflections of each other. Castle: a grand and beautiful landscape that inspires hope. Inferno: a sinister and forsaken wasteland that seeds despair. Rampart: a vibrant forest glen surrounded by life. Necropolis: a cold, desolate valley surrounded by death. Tower: a sanctuary for the wise high up on the white mountains where the sun always shine. Dungeon: a refuge for the wretched down below in the dark caves where the sun never shines. Of course, that’s not including the neutral factions: stronghold and fortress.

@@nicog8009 no, tower and dungeon definetely are counterparts, because they both are the best magic fractions in the game, both have 5 levels of magic towers. Tower specialazied in air magic, dungeon in earth.

@@nicog8009 during combat Titans and Black Dragons inflict 50% more damage to each other because they “hate” each other. Not to mention the opening video of HOMM3 clearly shows an epic battle between Dungeon and Tower.

They only slightly rewrote graphic engine and updated all visuals. No bugfixing, no ballance changes, no ease of use changes, no expansions. HD mod + HotA does all of that not counting visuals.
