I remember having a similar moment but in Overwatch on release day, jumped into the hole on Elios thinking that was the capture point since the trailer depicted the capture points as black platforms that you had to stand on. So I jumped in to my death and half the team followed me in.

No it was an honest mistake. I am the Nazeebo ;) I just saw something in corner of the screen and I haven't paid enough attention to this map to know there was a ghost academy as the size of a core..so I just hit the nuke when I saw something core like close to where the core should have been....

Falstad actually cost them the game. If he didn't move so much and just stayed in front of the core (slightly to the side), he would not have lost DPS and he would have killed core.

You are mixing two clips. Nova was racing down the core of the double nuking the wall clip. But yeah in all likely hood Chen should have just swapped sides at some point or they should have played more defensively instead of going for the all in there. But really its hindsight. If the two people hadn't stopped attacking to try to kill illidan they would have won, if they had backed off earlier they could have tried to come back to finish it next opportunity and still had people to defend their base, if Chen had repositioned he might have had his extra second to get his hit in or he could have taken enough longer that he'd have still been caught, might have also gone better if they got the core attacking Chen instead of one of their squishies. Lots of things that could have tipped it that 1% over.

It's not really all hindsight, though. In the moment, you can see when enemy heroes are about to respawn. You have to judge your likelihood of success from second to second. When you start to get outnumbered, it's time to duck out. No real reason to play the hero, there was no threat forcing their hand, like I thought with the Nova clip. Tunnel vision lost them the game because they got cocky.
