I just made a play with the mage, I know it's been a long time since your video, so there may be adjustments, I did 17k kills, fire mage, evolves area tome, dragon fire, xp tome, damage tome, Poisonous darts, electricity. Maybe I used something else but I don't remember. I didn't use ads to shuffle or use the magnet. (I've only been playing for 7 days)

Try staying still as much as possible the more running around you do the less enemies you will run into as you despawn them when running around see if that helps.

I downloaded this about 2/3 days ago, and I’m currently using the frost wizard level 28.. was just wondering if you have any advice on whether I should stick with this hero or switch to another one?

The frost wizard is actually really good! I use him in a few of my earlier videos. I would save your gems and stick with the frost wizard, but if you find yourself struggling then may be worth trying the fire wizard. Hope that helps and thanks for the comment.
