I worked in Child Care with a friend, and there was a split second when the toddler we were caring for toppled backwards. Their head was about to collide with the tile floor portion of the classroom, but my friend reacted so fast I was amazed. She ran slid, and cupped the child’s head in her hand. I saw the whole thing, and started that all those years of soft ball payed off. Through out my time working in Early Childhood Education I have developed a quick response time, but her reaction during this situation surpassed even my response time. I saw the fall, maybe took two steps, and she already caught the child. Preventing them from harm. A small reaction to the heroes caught on tape, but a heroic moment nonetheless.

Or we could be rational and sane people and realize that it is random luck and chance that is not personal. Sometimes it turns out in your favor and sometimes it doesn't. Otherwise we have to draw crazy and not very nice conclusions about the magic man who saves us or doesn't save us depending upon his whims or prejudices. 4:12 This video makes me very angry at the mother. I'm so so glad that that man was there to catch that child.

Great job by the folks who caught those children. It's hard to say which one is the most impressive. I don't wish danger on anyone, but it would add much more fulfilment and purpose to my life if I can rescue someone out of a dangerous situation.

If I were in his shoes, I could not have done it. Catching it at the right time, in other words, means that if you get the timing wrong, blood will spill at your feet, and you will bear the guilt that one life was lost because of your mistake. He is brave.

These scenes depict some really intensely terrifying, heart stopping moments. All you can do is gasp for air while watching helplessly and hoping for the best. Knuckle-biting fear holds you in rigid terror.

There's a video of a fire fighter this year, leaning outside an apartment window and catching a grown man who leaped off the building trying to commit suicide. I don't know how he did it other than adrenaline and the fact the fire fighter was a strong tall man.

35 bucks for saving your child from falling to her death... I don't care about that family's financial situation, he deserves to be given so much more for doing that.

Welcome to the club people.. As someone who dove into traffic to save a little girl who ran from her mother out into it, I know what this is like. People asked me afterwards how it happened and why I jumped into the street after her with great risk to myself and I was like, "Didn't really have a choice." And I wasn't even a fireman lol.. I was actually there doing community service for Joyriding. It's weird to think, that kid may not have been alive had I not have done that, moved home and ended up doing sweep sweeping when it happened, and when it happened, it happened in the span of a few short seconds..
