Heroes and Legends MTG Not related to today's previews, but Riptide Laboratory foils were bought out and doubled in price over the last two days. Managed to grab two at $25 each but now they're $40-$50 on all the big marketplaces.

I'm kinda new to MTG and I'm still learning about its rules. Could Kindred Discovery (using Insect as the creature type) combo off of the Locust God's draw mechanic and draw you your entire deck?

Yes, they are not "may" abilities you would have to draw your whole deck unless you could disrupt the combo. It could also be good with Laboratory Maniac or Platinum Angel for example.

Heroes and Legends MTG I was even thinking if the numbers are good on C17 and Unstable sales, they could celebrate with foil double sided Cat Dragon/Gold Dragon tokens for some kind of player reward

So my thoughts on the pillow fort style in a dragon deck are this, you want to cast these big high mana cost dragons, but it takes a while to ramp that high or get your pieces together. This sub strategy would buy you that time until you can get your big hitters out and then they have a whole bunch of red tape to get past. I like it!

I agree, it makes sense with the build, does a good job of gumming up the early game potentially.

When the player pays the 2 extra for leonin arbiter, only the player that paid the mana can ignore the effect.

For path of ancestry, wouldnt everytime you cast your commander you would also scry, your comander shares a creature type with your commander, doesnt it?

Yes that is how I interpreted it. I believe you would get the scry if you cast your Commander as long as it is not one of the Commander 2014 Planeswalker Commanders.

Without haste, how could o-kagachi really get its effect off? Kinda reminds me of the gitrog monster being 6/6 with deathtouch; not really gonna matter on something that big. Wasitora owns it really badly too. Thanks for the lore on ur-dragon.

I think the Trample helps but there are times when it could not have a good line of attack.

The Territorial Hellkite actually impressed me, and it is even more powerful in the Ur-Dragon deck, because with the ur-dragon, its a 6/5 flying, haste for 1RR. Dragons are expensive as a whole, this card is likely to be the strongest creature on the table when it comes down early game, which it can potentially do as early as turn 2 with ramp, and it'll wreak havoc on everyone's life totals. Since in an average game, most players simply do not have the means to deal with something like this early game. And when it's hit once, that player is unlikely to want to kill it right away since it can't attack them next turn, so they'll just let it remain in order to have it hit someone else. And at no point in the game is the Territorial Hellkite ever a weak creature.

Don't mention slivers we don't need them coming back into power, it's bad enough we had that modern slivers company deck do good recently 😅
