They have a huge coverage area and wanted to keep everything under one roof
@ffjsb3 жыл бұрын
@@HeroesNextDoor If you have a huge coverage area, it's not a very good idea to have all your equipment in one station. That totally screws your ISO rating and increases your average response time. They should have at least one satellite station.
@trvman13 жыл бұрын
@@ffjsb Agreed. Where I lived that had a big coverage area. They had 3 separate stations. They used to have 2, one north end, one south end. Town grew with new housing and they built a new station and staged the ladder truck in the middle and moved in one pumper from a station that had 3 pumpers. So they had no cost rather then the new building which was nothing fancy. So they had a station north end, south end and one in the middle. So response time would be "level" and it was a volunteer department. From one end of the town line to the next town line it was about 18 miles. Bigger is not always better.

When we had a fire in our town a fire department from the next town over had to come to our town to pick the fire out. I am the only female firefighter paramedic in my family. My five brothers was a volunteer firefighter. I grew up around the fire department. I would help out my dad was the paperwork and help update the new 🚒 that was coming in the fire department . I became a JR firefighter at the age of 14 and become a paramedic at the age of 17 and start driving the 🚒 at the age of 16 and the age of 19 become a paid firefighter paramedic and at the age of 25 become the only female LT. I miss being a firefighter paramedic. In state of New York if you are a volunteer firefighter paramedic you can get a paid firefighter paramedic jobs in New York city's . I would for a paid firefighter paramedic job in Arizona they told me that I was over training to be a paid firefighter paramedic for state of Arizona.

Hay, dumb question, my department NEEDS a new station but they complain about budget. I am 17 and have been voicing concerns about needing the new one since I was 15 and not only have I but also the community and back in 2014 even the chief. Any tips? It would be 5 bays. “would include administrative office space and a training center. He noted that the Midland Fire Department has already become something of a magnet for training as budget-strapped departments in Saginaw and Bay City have eliminated such offerings for firefighters from other departments. “Training has dried up in the area,” Coughlin said.” In an interview with the fire marshal and chief both of whom I know they said they no longer think it’s needed as much though it is needed and has been researched how ever the 8 to 10 million budget can’t be made in any way including a mileage. That would include moving the current main station… this is needed for the reasons below… 1. We have dropped from 80 percent in the 8 minute response time to now being 10 to 12 minutes. 2. Our ambulance isn’t run through fire stations causing a delay in medical response from fire department trained in at least ALS. 3. Only runs out of three stations 5 mutual aid stations all of which are volunteers. 4. Runs only four engines, 1 rescue, 1 ladder, 1 tower actually below is everything including mutual aid: Midland City Station 1 Engine 1 Tower 1 Utility 1 Rescue Battalion Chief Tojo Asst. Chief Truck Fire Marshal Truck Station 2 Engine 2 Engine 4 Station 3 Engine 3 Ladder 3 Brush Truck aka skid unit Rescue Boat Larkin Township Station 1 Frontline Attack Pumper 1 Frontline Attack Pumper 2 Heavy Rescue 1 Light Rescue 1 Brush Truck 1 Rescue/Suppression UTV 1 Enclosed Trailer 1 Water Tender 1 Frontline pumper is also known as an engine Homer Township Station 1 Engine 320 Engine 324 Rescue Unit 350 Brush Truck 340 Tender 330 Jerome for Sanford area Station 1 Engine 1 Engine 2 Heavy rescue 1 Station 2 Light rescue 1 Skid 1 Engine tender 1 Edenville Township Station 1 Pumper Tender Light rescue Station 2 Tender Heavy rescue Pick up/ light rescue/ skid Mills Township Station 1 Engine 820 Pumper 830 Lee Township Station 1 Engine 1120 Engine 1121 Tanker/ Tender 1130 Brush Truck 1140 Medium rescue 1150 Medical rescue 1152 Is there anything that can make them change there minds?
