B-2EMO may just sit alongside R2D2 as my fav droid in Star Wars now. It’s just so cute and empathetic. It’s like a child who always wants to be around the adults. And you’re right, the humans around the droid give respect to it as a fellow sentient being, and that enchances its character.

I think different cultures and planets vary in what degree they consider droids. Cassian had a pretty personal relationship with K-2SO, so we see that again with B2, and it seems all the people on Ferrix may generally consider droids more person-like. They might also just be aware that droids become more sophisticated if they go years without a memory wipe.

@@John_Locke_108 I think it's more a part of the AI, some droids are given basic AI, like early B1 or K2 units, But some are given better AI in order to comprehend and support whatever their role is better, Like C3PO and R2. Moreover some droids learn from their masters, it's a part of their AI thing. R2 is a bit reckless and badass , yet somehow very good in intense situations for an astromech because he has hung out with Anakin and ahsoka most of his life, and then luke later K2 is extremely pragmatic and to the point because cassian is pragmatic and to the point on missions. That conflict with the Arrestor exemplifies Luthen's ideals for fighting the Empire. Just like what Princess Leia says to Tarkin in "ANH", Luthen runs with the same idea that when the Empire tightens it's clutches, more people, more systems, slip through it's grip. He made the Imperials boost their tractor beam factor so that he could aggressively disable it and catch them off guard. Then he brought the hammer down on all of those fighter pilots and ghosted that whole scene like a boss. He turned what was supposed to be a simple Imperial boarding and inspection to a satisfying Uno reversal and humiliation of an arrogant Imperial patrol.

It says that he cares about everybody taking part in the rebellion and understands the sacrifice everybody is making. He doesn’t want them to be forgotten. Also, I don’t think this gets talked about enough. Say what you will about Disney and what they have done with Star Wars, but they have NAILED it with Droids! BB-8, K2SO, and now B2EMO. The tractor beam sequence is some of the smartest and well-thought out combat in Star Wars; it is so fun and easy to understand that Luther truly is a badass who can calmly fight his way through the Empire/ISB. Can’t wait to see what they do with Luthen in the finale/next season.
