To anyone saying, "Clint has got to die," I have a "fuck you" for you, from Nat. Clint's not getting a happy ending with his family, would totally negate Nat's sacrifice. Both were murders, except Clint killed criminals, while Nat killed her assigned targets, many of which, could have been GOOD people.

This is where things get muddy, we wouldn't be calling for Frank Castle to atone for his actions. In fact, we get excited to watch him murder bad guys. So turning the table and saying Clint has to atone for his Ronin days feels weirdly hypocritical. Clint beats himself up for those days. He was willing to die because of them, but like Natasha said, she doesn't judge him based on his worst moment. He helped Nat become a hero. He helped Wanda become a hero. He's helping Kate become a hero. He did really horrible things, but at his core he's a genuinely good person. We forgive Frank, we forgive Loki, why is Clint held to a higher standard? I get the instinct to want him to atone, but doesn't he deserve the same grace we give to other characters?

Dude, Frank Castle WATCHED his family get murdered, then they damn near murdered him. He had every reason to do what he did, it was revenge. None of that happened to Clint, the blip is not justification to just kill people. If that's the case, then every person who was left after the blip, has the right to go on a murdering spree.
@sarcasmxkate2 жыл бұрын
@@jroo272011 I'm not saying what he did was right, I'm 100% sure that's not even what I wrote. I'm also 100% sure every person Frank murders wasn't involved in the murder of his family so once he got his revenge, by your logic, he should have stopped. But he didn't, which brings me back to my point of why is Clint so different? At least he stopped. It's not a black and white situation is all I'm saying. I'm not shitting on Frank, I love that character, I'm just pointing out that it's a muddy conversation to have.
@christopherwills69762 жыл бұрын
Thats the thing though, we don't give Frank Castle a pass, we understand why he's doing what he's doing but there is no justification for it. Frank knows this, he knows what he is doing is wrong but Frank views it as necessary. Frank stopped Daredevil from taking that path because Frank Knows he is a criminal. Once Clint became an Avenger things changed for him, he became a hero that people looked up to as Steve Rogers states regularly the Avengers are different, Clint wasn't some random veteran that went on a spree, he was an Avenger. That is the difference. Clint was an avenger, 1 of the worlds mightest heroes that people looked up to, that became a murderer,. Frank was just a random victim of Gang violence who went after criminals. Clint is trying to live a normal life after being Ronin where Frank knows damn well that his mission ends with his death. 1 is just, and accepts that they are just, a murderer. The other is a hero that became a murderer. The same reason we didn't give John Walker a pass for his murder isn't because of the murder its because it happened while he was aspiring to be a hero. The reason Clint was and is held to a higher standard is because the Avengers should be better, his actions reflect bad on the group as well as himself. So Clint must atone. More than this is that Clint unlike Frank cant live with what he's done, he needs to atone for his save as well.
@sarcasmxkate2 жыл бұрын
@@christopherwills6976 I get what you're saying, but the fact that Clint lives in his guilt and hates what he did, feels like atonement. Clint's whole family disappeared for five years and he saw criminals living their best lives and it drove him mad. It's not a justification, it just is what it is. Clint's also just as human as Frank, his Avenger status or not. He's not an Avenger first and a human second. It's the other way around. I'm not saying he shouldn't atone or take full responsibility for his actions, but the fact that he knows he was wrong and was willing to die for his actions, gives him some grace for me. We also have to consider the danger that could come from Clint atoning publicly. Not just for him, but his family and I'd be devastated if anything happened to his wife or children because of Clint. It's a complicated situation is all.

The situation is different , Loki started as a villain and I’m not saying he became a hero , he is sorta an egocentric antihero while Clint is a Hero and losing your family isn’t an excuse to kill other people ( even bad ) cause these are the consequences ( even bad people have families ) , I mean if everyone did what Hawkeye did after the blip , even Cap should have become a killer , since he lost both his best friends ( Bucky and Falcon ) , but he didn’t , he stayed calm and tried to help other people and so should have done Hawkeye , he should’ve reunite with the Avengers that didn’t blipped and stay with them ( especially black widow who is his best friend) . So at the end , I’m not saying that Clint deserves to die , but I wouldn’t be that surprised if that happens cause I also thought about Clint having a bad ending , I mean there are two people chasing for his head ( Echo and Yelena Belova and maybe also kingpin ) so he is in a difficult situation , let’s see what happens , but also since the show ends 3 days before Christmas , I would like to see a happy ending , with Clint finally retiring and Kate taking his spot .

I agree with Hector, because clint killed all those five years not because he was fighting crime, but stupidly because it was his way of dealing with grief, which I absolutely do not understand because instead he could actually come to Natasha and help clean up the mess that was left after Thanos, not create a new one. Mayas's father certainly wasn't a saint, but he wasn't the worst of the bunch either, and if it really was a clint then he's just a coward because he didn't go to kill Fisk, he went for the smaller fish because he knew he was sure to win which kind of doesn't play in his favor either. Also, I so "love" that those fans who are now defending Clint's crimes(if that's definitely him), who did it all consciously and willingly, can't accept the redemption arc of Bucky who committed his crimes while brainwashed, but still considered a villain. Well, that's kind of cool. And about agustin not liking jeremy, i don't really like him either, but i honestly don't care for him, and clint wasn't a very important character for me either, i liked him more in animation than in movies, he only became important after the vormir situation, in my opinion. So the fact that there's a TV series based on a certain character doesn't mean that you have to love and admire that character/actor right away.

@@FullMetalB How do you know for sure if it was a clint or not but you defend it de facto anyway?And to the second part of the comment, that's the point, clint wasn't trying to get to the fisks and the big shots of the underworld that were left, he was just killing everyone in a row.Although if he really wanted to get rid of criminals, then yes he would have done what you described, started digging for the remaining bosses and killed from the bottom to the top, but he did not. But all these murders don't count because "well, his family was torn apart before his eyes, so let's turn a blind eye to all this and more", when other characters don't get that kind of indulgence. And really, instead of being an executioner and deciding who lives and who doesn't, he could have really helped Natasha, like I wrote above, and gone to survivor meetings with Steve, which would have been much more helpful for everyone. Of course one might wonder why natasha didn't track him down earlier, especially if they were best friends, but then again, tony and steve didn't connect until the end either, so there's that.

I do find it interesting when people say Clint needs to atone for his actions as Ronin when most of the Avengers in their various superhero guises are equally as culpable for killing people, criminal and innocent, with either their direct or indirect actions. Guilt fuels a lot of people's actions in the group over the course of the movies, but I don't remember fans of the MCU saying they specifically need to atone. Maybe its because there hasn't been enough visual time on the screen, big or small, that reflects Clint's guilt for his actions? I've always felt he's lived in guilt and regrets all the time, and the only thing that gave him a chance to step away from those emotions was his family.
@jbsgk552 жыл бұрын
I mean, guilt isn't atonement. He has yet to answer for any of his crimes. The Sokovia Accords were *supposed* to be about the Avengers being help culpable for their actions. I think the major difference is that the Avengers went on world saving missions where preserving the lives of the people fighting them wasn’t the priority, they didn’t intentionally go out of their way to kill anyone but if one of their enemies died in a heated battle they weren’t going to cry over it Whereas Clint specifically went out of his way to hunt down regular criminals that could have been arrested and tried and murdered them because he’d decided they deserved it

Yeah and it's also the fact that Clint's actions as Ronin were only seen as him killing nonwhite criminals in Mexico (unseen but described) and Japan (seen), so that's pretty terrible. They come across as being racially motivated, on top of his motivation that he wanted to kill criminals for surviving the snap. But if there's more to this story, then this show is the perfect place to explore that. And for the record, I have also seen online discourse about Tony Stark and Steve Rogers and Black Widow and other superheroes needing to face justice for murdering enemy combatants instead of capturing them or taking a different approach. It's just that Clint's is fresh and he got to go back to his family. Tony and Nat are dead. But Steve got a happy ending.

@@axlm.808 Maya is what, 6 or 7 in 2007 right ? So the snap was 2019 which would make her 18 or 19 when it happened. She looks older than that to me. If she wasn't snapped then she'd be 24ish in the current timeline & that looks about right tbh. I mean, I guess she'd be 24 regardless but I'm talking about physical age :D

Again I'm left wondering what the difference is between ronin and how iron man just went and murked people in the middle east with heavy artillery the moment he got his suit working? They didn't have kids? Lets talk about vigilante heroes but singling out Ronin as an outlier here is strange. The avengers both individually and as a team went on kill missions sanctioned by no one but themselves.

I love that marvel searches for unique and unknown/lesser known ppl to take on these roles, rather than already famous people. Especially with the casting post Avengers 1. Clint Barton must die? So probably did Nat when pity stayed Clint's hand. He chose forgiveness and a chance for Nat to atone through positive actions rather than paying her life. That turned out pretty well. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. Well according to Hector in another thread. The reason he is harsh towards Clint is because in Endgame he apparently says Clints actions as Ronin had a "racial killing undertone". Even though that was not the case. So because of that questionable reasoning Clint apparently needs to die.

Of course it's Kingpin, during that moment in the opening it says in the subtitles *chuckles in D'Onofrio*. If he does appear in a Spider-Man film I'd love if they adapted the Ultimate Spider-Man comics where Spider-Man first meets Kingpin, that was a fantastic introduction to Kingpin and Spider-Man's relationship, and having one of Kingpin's henchmen be the MCU's Electro like in that story, or maybe even another major Spider-Man villain as his main henchman could be really fun. I will say Hector, the idea of an animated Kingpin showing up in the MCU Spider-Man origin series could be interesting, but I think he's too big a threat for Tom Holland's Spider-Man to have faced at that point, if Tony thought the Vulture was too much for him I think the idea of him facing Kingpin before that would make the Vulture seem like a bit of a step down in comparison, and I don't think Peter at that point would have been able to even understand exactly what the Kingpin was at that point. That's just my opinion though.

My Theory: Clint will not die in this series, BUT... he will be arrested (And not make it home for Christmas), and he'll show up in the She-Hulk series and he'll be one of her Clients. Like, he is leaving so much evidence all over the place, the Pym Arrow alone is going to be a red flag that he's involved, and like, a lot of people died in this episode alone. Like, if they are doing a Legal-Show, She-Hulk is going to need some familiar clients, and perhaps she loses the case because... like... he did do a lot of illegal stuff.

Also, I don't think Clint was the one being Ronin when killing Maya's dad. I have a really strong hunch that it may be the Swordsman or another unexpected person. Because we never get a real time frame of when that happened and the sword and suit was clearly not in Clint's possession for a while if it was at the auction. So it easily could have been worn by someone else who needed to take out the tracksuit group for their own benefit. And I think all that guilt he is feeling is from the other groups that he killed. Just some thoughts I had after this episode lol. But obviously the best part was that FUCKI*G GIANT ARROW!!!! 👍🏻👍🏻🔥😁😁

thats quite an interesting guess, if they mentioned or show or tell us that the murder of Maya's dad was during the five yrs of the Blip, then i guess it would definitely Clint maybe but since they didnt tell us, like ur guess, maybe its the Swordsman or someone else did it between the event after the Blip and before the stuff went to the auction.. and if it is someone else than Clint, they are doing quite a good job at hiding their mess or something, cuz it would be all over the news already about Ronin being back, just like when Kate wore the suit

@@arifkarim4184 Well if there's one thing Marvel loves doing in these shows and movies, it's misdirecting us for a big OH SHIT moment lol. Also, I have a feeling that Maya (or maybe her cousin or someone else) will end up killing then one who killed her father. And I highly doubt Hawkeye dies by the end of this show because with everything he's lost thus far, killing him off on top of all that would be worse than cruel.
