Few things: 1. This episode shows once and for all why Joel has such a fearsome reputation. He's 56 years old and still recovering from his injury and he utterly destroys multiple guys. Imagine how terrifying he was in his prime, like right after the outbreak in the wake of Sarah's death. 2. David is even creepier here than in the game. The added note of him being a teacher pre-apocalypse opens up all sorts of horrible possibilities of what he did even before everything went to hell. Him telling Ellie the best part is when they fight back confirms he's done this over and over and over again. 3.The "baby girl" moment is every bit as emotional as expected. The emotional walls Joel put up after Sarah's death have fallen and he's gone all out to love another daughter again, even with the risks. 4. Ellie killing original Joel is prime dark humor.

@@donlalo2002- Something can be both ironic and darkly humorous. Is it contrary to expectations to have the character Ellie kill the original actor of Joel? Yes. Technically penicillin shots should go in one of two places. The first is the meaty muscle part of the upper buttock. The other is the lower abdomen like an insulin shot. However, method of introduction doesn't really matter in this case just so long as the shot gets into Joel's bloodstream to begin fighting the infection. Of course there is always the upper pad of the arm about two fingers width down from the shoulder. A bit of trivia, the guy Joel knifes in the basement is the actual director of the episode.

The fact that David used to be a teacher to kids Ellie’s age just ups the icky factor with him. He definitely played creeper really well..but Bella was going through so many emotions this episode and it was amazing to watch. And when Joel said “it’s ok baby girl..I got you” it was just heart wrenching. As for the penicillin, I think it’s usually a butt/hip/thigh injection? I’m not sure about the amount she was administering though (I assume you can have too much?)

Actors often try to put themselves emotionally in their character's state of mind and try to feel what their character is feeling to evoke the most natural looking acting. I think Bella herself had to go to a dark place to act this well. Emotion is hard to fake well and Bella did a phenomenal job. I wonder what part of her past she used to summon that demon.

For those asking about the correct way to inject the penicillin, the best way to go about it is to read the label on the bottle. Manufacturers always adds instructions on how to administer the vial of medicine so it's best to read the label first before you start injecting any of it to the patient.
@thedarkknight2221 Жыл бұрын
Without question this is the *DARKEST* part of the game. And yeah, they show did not hold back. They made David in his last minutes even more disturbing than the game made him. And when David tells Ellie that she has a violent heart he had NOOOO idea. I would honestly put her near the top of the list of the deadliest people in tv or video games. When she is chopping the hell out of David it is cathartic at first but then you see the tragedy because Ellie needed to tap into all of the darkness and violence in her heart to survive. And then we get the scene of Joel hugging Ellie and calling her baby girl😭😭😭. Bella Ramsey is getting an Emmy or this show🤞🤞! I kinda wished that Troy Baker (the original actor who played Joel in the game) was cast as someone far more important than James. Still he was amazing and he had an awesome death scene, and it was darkly funny that video game Joel was killed by tv Ellie. I actually screamed out “NO JOEL” when that happened 😂. Also wish that they gave Ellie her trademark bow and arrow, but hopefully we get that in Part 2.

the nervous shit from hector made me laugh so hard haha. This part of the game is terrifying, the fact that you're escaping not from a clicker or a bloater but from from a cannibal psychopath it's way more scarier, also very difficult because you have to stab him 3 times. This episode is key though for the Ellie and Joel relationship storyline. Baby girl are the most important words from Joel ( he used to call Sara like that) letting you know that Joel finally let his guard down and let himself to love and protect this girl as his daughter. Also shout out to Troy, must have been so amazing and bizarre meeting ellie/bella - thanks for the reactions guys. Hope you are prepared for the final.
