Why does every character in yj always get way more boring when they grow up. Like I get they're more responsible but impulse in outsiders is nothing compared to impulse in s2. Plus young justice creators think the more heroes that are added is what the fans want but really it's the characters that we love having their dynamic.

I know I loved impulse in season 2, but was rather sad that a lot of the character dynamics that defined the first season were really gone

I think part of it is that s2 impulse was putting on a facade. Older impulse has the tone and mannerisms of the Bart we see make the Time Machine in the destroyed cave. Once his mission was complete I think dropped the “wacky future tourist” mask

Yeah, if you try to look at speedsters logically they're one of the most OP types because: a) their brains have to work so much faster than the average person's if they're gonna see where they're going and b) they apparently have extreme physical resilience and stamina, otherwise they'd drop in five minutes assuming they didn't break a foot/leg from repeatedly hitting the ground so hard. And punching at the speed? Yeah, you throw a punch with your right arm at their speed you can take your left arm and wave bye-bye to your right arm. Super-speed is one of those powers that's only balanced if you don't think about it.
