There is still one fragment missing, or deliberately erased, when Deionara takes Age hand he tells her: "Lets go where the father is", and she replies "yes" - japan "hai", which is shown as character lips movement (5:20 - 5:24), but after some time it was erased from most or even every version available on net, and only Deionara lips movement was left... which is a bit sad. Well at least original meaning was preserved, not as in Baldurs Gate saga, where original ending was rewritten to squeeze more... money from fans.

I didn't know that about the translation. I do love how in that moment when she realizes he has come back nothing else matters to her besides getting to him. The way the actress says his name feels like nothing else in the universe matters anymore. Truly one of the best endings to an anime ever.

In short terms, yes. To explain, remember the requirements in passing the portal to the Golden Tribe's universe. Those who wanted to pass should evolve into higher beings, and manage to go beyond the other tribes. Rebuilding and discovering the gateway is the sign of technological advancement. The Silver Tribe went ahead because they've overcome their insecurities in the end and passed to the next universe (Golden Tribe universe). In this case, it would mean that Princess Dianeara fulfilled the requirements to pass to the next universe (I think her fulfilling her promise with Age contributed to this). Hence why the portal opened for her with Age, in a reversal of roles, leading her into the new world. The Golden Tribe expected/foresaw her fulfilling the contract with Age and Bellcross and terraforming Planet Oron. They deliberately left the inactive gateway on the planet and set it to activate once someone fulfills their agreement with Age.

*spoiler* don't read if you plan to watch this anime (and you should, really, one of the best space opera ever) So Age had a contract with Humanity: he would fulfill all his tasks and in return mankind would restore his homeworld. This scene shows the end of the restoration, a few years after Age has gone through another portal and traveled to a distant galaxy and left Princess Dianeira alone. The complete restoration of the planet has a side effet: it restores the starway (watch the show) which is related to gravity/magnetism (basically, all planets and stars are linked together, think of the universe as a gigantic web, and starway traveling makes it faster (sort of lightspeed). And the restored starway allows the opening of the hidden portal, Age comes back for Dianeira, and her alone. During the years she had to govern, she shared her powers with others, she tried to spead knowledge and sharing, she made sure great people would/could take over after her time, so in fact, she is rewarded for her hard work, and since she pledged to Age in the name of Mankind that this world would be restored, there was no doubt she would check it out with her very own eyes. From the beginning to the end, the story is PERFECT. Watch the full show and what is GREAT with Heroic Age is that there is a full episode to sort things out, 20 minutes to solve everything and explain the future of the galaxy. And it is truly AWESOME compared to the 2-3 minutes you sometimes get in other shows.
