Another massive thing is that India should block every ball until 80 overs are done, to make Aus eligible for an over-rate penalty in terms of WTC points. Earlier this wasn't really relevant with the follow-on target, but now that a draw is the most likely scenario and there's just 31 balls to go, and India is competing with Aus for WTC standings. This could be useful.

Australia have not bowled anywhere near slow enough to be eligible for over rate penalties. Many overs from Lyon and many impatient "waiting for the batter to stand in his crease" moments that the match referee will not blame Australia for.

I haven't seen Cummins and Andrew McDonald do funky things and they won't either tomorrow. (And they shouldn't). It's not a wicket you can slog, India tried being aggressive yesterday and lost 3 wickets on stupid shots. They will bat normally as do maybe declare if they have enough runs, but it would be highly risky given once Starc and Cummins spell are done, you have Marsh, Lyon, who aren't any threat to India batting line-up. Australia chance of winning was already thin even before Hoff went out, it became nil after that. A draw is a good result for both teams here.

If there are 90 overs tomorrow, then the match is still open. Australia can bat 30 overs and make 100 runs and set around 290 runs target in 60 overs. India has struggled to play 60 overs in almost all innings except Perth second inning. Australia has to smartly use Head and Mitch Marsh to cover up for Hazzelwood.

So final day can be nervy for us if weather holds. Cummins and Starc Only have to bowl 35 overs between themselves and rest 20-25 overs can be bowled by Marsh,Lyon and Head. On the other hand, if Indian top order bats well in second innings then they would take confidence for Melbourne test.

Totally agree. Rohit has effectively pushed himself out as opener and isn’t really as good coming in at 4 or 5. Kohli still has enough to offer and is still a talisman for the side. I do think that in addition to Jaiswal, Reddy and Deep India should bring in some more newbies. They have such a phenomenal number of good players ready and anxious to come in and justify their selection given the chance. I also think Bumrah is well capable of leading the side as shown in Perth.

The only team that can win from here is Australia. I am worried Travis Head/ Mitchell Marsh will be sent up the order and they will do what Rohit/Jaiswal did to Bangladesh to force a win. In the Aussie batting line up, Them 2 and Alex Carey are gung-ho players They can be easily backed up by Starc, and Cummins who can swing as well when required. Mind you they will have nothing to lose as well. Looking at Rohit and Kohli who are a liability, I think 60 -70 overs will be enough to get India out.
