It will go down in the history books as one of if not the biggest display of bravery and heroism to ever exist. Right alongside what the young men of DDay accomplished on June 6, 1944 helping Europe, and what would have been the entire world, free itself of tyranny and evil. Certainly the biggest military upset for little Ukraine to defeat “big bad” Russia and drive them out of their land using willpower and heart despite having 1/50th of the resources Russia had the first several months of the invasion.

wars are fought by the young who follow the orders of the old. As Pink Floyd once wrote: "Forward", he cried from the rear And the front rank died, The general sat and the lines on the map, Moved from side to side"

I like Pink Floyd very much- interesting quote...but...what, If the operation leader (aka "the general") was to die first, due to not being protected and not having the whole situational awareness from the command post in the back?! -> men without leadership at the frontline imho definitely would not be the better way to go...😬

77 combat missions in contested airspace heavily defended by s300 and s400 in an early 4th gen aircraft outnumbered by late 4th gen aircraft with air to air missiles with twice his range? This guy would be a rockstar in any Western airforce. This guy is a rockstar. I think F16 training would take less time than we think for some of these pilots, but they should be instructors more than pilots of the f16 at this point.
Mario Kingston
Mario Kingston 5 ай бұрын
Rick start really ??? I guess you watch too much movies or is that naive….putting a pilot in a newer aircraft with different avionics with short amount of training is a death wish. When you are trained to operate a particular air, you will be pushed to the limit under heave stress so that your reaction becomes second nature. Now try that in a aircraft with different avionics and see what happens……….maybe his job is just to shoot down gas powered Iranian drones confined to Ukraine airspace and not to venture out behind enemy lines.

В его честь кстати назвали и Эрика Картмана в Саус Парке . И вот у этого пилота позывной был "Karaya" , и у украинского пилота на удивление тоже . Украину надо избавлять от нацизма, они сами этого не могут сделать .

This man is definitely a hero for his country. Flying an old jet against modern enemy jets. 65ft off the ground is insanity, like he said power lines or anything that could be a threat. Towers, buildings etc. Awesome and these men know they are out classed and out numbered but still fight. To save his country and make life better for his family and country men, women and children. The future is at stake for their freedom from Russia.

MiG 29 was developed as the answer to the F-18. The F-16 has been flying longer then both, but the F-16 and F-18 have had a continual program of updates and enhancements to keep them on the cutting edge of operational performance.

Then ukraine should do the research to upgrade their MiG 29. I can see it happening, like putting in a better long distance rockets and long radar detection.
Dester32
Dester32 5 ай бұрын
@Deadasfboi They are putting American weapons such as HARMS and glide bombs and using phones/garmins to replace old instruments. Unfortunately attritotion is hitting the Ukrainians more then the Russians, it would be cheaper to get F-16's. Also F-16's were kind of designed to fight Russia/USSR so we may as well let the Ukrainians do so with F-16s we donate. "But but escalation" really does not matter now that Poland ahs donated retrofitted NATO mig 29s
PiDsMedia

During World War II, British pilots chasing the V-1 flying bombs ran into the same problem. When they fired, the warhead exploded, showering their fighters with all kinds of debris. The pilots created the tactic of pulling up alongside the V-1s and using their wingtip, "flipped" the V-1. The V-1s gyroscopes couldn't recover and the V-1s crashed. Not sure if this would work here as I've never seen the actual size of the Iranian drones but might be a possibility.

We already give Ukraine so much it's not even funny I understand they cannot fight back, but one of the things that makes us military so strong is its F-16s, and we can't allow them to fall into enemy hands

IMO the F-16 and F-18 are POS. As the RCAF has found out, the F-18 is a true hangar queen. And the F-16 was designed to be a disposable fighter screen for the more expensive and better equipped F-15s.

Is this not crazy?? No more than 100 years ago seeing the inside of a cockpit while in combat would have been literally impossible unless you were a pilot, now we can watch people take Snapchat videos of them literally in live combat with an enemy nation.
