HEROIC Ultraxion (10-man) - Fire Mage PoV - HD

This is our first kill of HEROIC Ultraxion (10-man) as a guild.
Guild: The Machine of Sylvanas-EU (Horde).
Kill date: 27th of December, 2011.
PoV: Zumzar - Fire Mage.
We used 2 tanks, 2 healers and 6 dps for this.
This is a fairly straight forward fight. All it requires is co-ordination on who soaks each Hour of Twilight, and some smart usage of defensive cooldowns. The order of who is soaking each Hour of Twilight will be said on Ventrilo during the fight, but will also be in the raid-chat mid-fight. We choose to use Bloodlust at the end, but I guess it could be just as good to use it in the beginning.
As you can see in the video, we have the raid all stacked for healing, and then just nuking the fuck out of it. Not much to it. Ultraxion is this tier's obligatory dps/hps check.
From a Fire Mage point of view, this is again a fight where we have huge potential, as WoL also backs up. Nevertheless, again, it solely relies on good or bad RNG. With 4pc T13 (as I have), you can get up to 5 (!!) Combustions squeezed in, though I only manage to get 4. Personally, I had a couple of shitty Combustions on this kill, which is the sole reason my dps isn't higher. I was going with a Haste heavy build, as I saw a couple of top parses having high amounts of Haste (2100+) even with 4pc T13. I have since reforged fully back to Crit with at least 1505 Haste, as I was not happy with the result.
As you can see in the video, I was personally responsible for soaking 2x Hour of Twilight. The first I soaked with a Cauterize proc, and popped Mage Ward to absorb some of the fire damage, just prior to HoT hitting me. The 2nd, I Ice Blocked right before the HoT hit me. I had also set up a Power Aura for this fight, so I could see the Binding Light debuff with milliseconds. It really helps if want to push your dps.

@ZounaaS My normal scrolling combat text is just default Blizzard. I use an addon called FontDamageChanger to change the Font of the normal SCT. "Blue icon showing when my spell is ready to use"? I'm sorry, but I don't have that in my UI. What I do have is Power Auras icons showing my spells when they're off CD, and ClassTimers with BLUE (!!) bars showing power-ups, such as Power Torrent etc.

@Execro Thank you. I sometimes get shitty Combustions, cause I am wondering the exact same things as you are. Yesterday, I changed my CombustionHelper a bit and DISABLED "Ignite Prediction" or w/e it's called. So in my current settings it will never show red (i.e. predicted ignite), as I was gettign some lousy Combustions that way, when praying. I'm getting better results since I changed it, but I also rarely rely solely on CH. I track my scrolling combat text and watch for high crits.

Congrats on the kill. Can I ask which settings you've adjusted from default for CombustionHelper and how you know when you've got a good enough ignite to combust? Do you always wait for numbers in CH to go green to make sure the ignite wasn't munched or do you sometimes just press and pray? Thanks

Zumzar, in your opinion, you would do more damage with arcane specc in this fight ? btw maybe you have tryed mybigignite addonn for combustion tracking ? A lot of famous mages using it now :) Gratz on the kill btw.

@blaze36x There's no easy way around making it work in a different resoltution. You have to edit every single addon's location and size. It's not too hard though.

@buzzerkrb Just tested it on a Dummy, while I still had CH active. I don't know, man, but it was showing the exact same ignite values in both addons, at the exact same time, so I'll just stick to CH for now with ignite prediction turned off.

@buzzerkrb I don't think Arcane will do more dps on this fight. I think Arcane can do great dps on this, but I still believe that Fire has more potential, if you're lucky/good with Combustions. I did consider playing Arcane for 3 % dmg boost to the raid though. And in regards to MyBigIgnite, I've heard it's a good addon, and I have indeed considered using it a couple of times. Hell, fuck it - I'll give it a try now. :) Thanks for reminding me.
