I was pretty excited for this after looking at the class trailer, seeing it now it feels like it got the short end of the development stick, they could have made this mech rideable or useable, but instead they made a pseudo ranger with less utility.

I’m largely considering using my 80 boost on an engineer. I have an elementalist and a guardian and I want to finish my Mesmer and then it’s between boosting my thief or engineer and then leveling the other. I can’t decide. The Jade mech is just so cool.

Hey! Looks cool, 1 question: can you still play with sword and the overheat system while having the minion? Will scrapper/holo be useless now?

You cant spec into more than 1 elite spec at a time so while using Mechanist and the mech that comes along with it you will not be able to use any skills or weapons associated with Holo or Scrapper. Holo and Scrapper will not be useless they will just be alternative specs just like they are now.

I enjoyed playing the Mechanist, mostly tough because it felt unballanced and quite overpowered.. what will be left when things are more ballanced? Personally i would like to see them add toolbelt skills .. but only when the Mech is send away..

That's a cool idea, adding some skills when your mech is put away. At the moment it seems absolutely pointless to not have your mech out as it's so OP 😃

There is a base Engineer skill that summons a mech that you can climb into.

while the mech is pretty strong overall I consider this espec relativly weak. I mean you are bound to have signets in your bar. there aren't that many skills and traitlines that sync with it unlike holo and scrapper.

I don't care for how the mech looks. Giving us a melee weapon is nice but we still can't switch weapon sets, only kits. Speaking of which, not sure I want to give up my F keys linked to the kits. I was really looking forward to this elite class

Yeah -- When I was playing I felt so reliant on the mech that when it would die in tougher PvE situations, I literally ran circles in the boss to wait for either deployment or ultimate to recharge.
