Nobody would ever have known how abusive my childhood was. As soon as we stepped a foot outside the front door, we knew to put on the “perfect Christian family” masks. I didn’t know it wasn’t that way for everyone until I started spending nights with my friends. I was too afraid to tell anyone.

I appreciate him mentioning Kratom. I know there is a massive stigma on this substance, but my mother just started taking it a month ago. She was legally prescribed pain medication for rheumatoid arthritis, but after about 8 months, the medication wasn't helping near as much, they had already upped the dose, and were not willing to up it more. At that moment my mom became an addict. A year before, never wanting, let alone doing pain pills, to a year later, desperately searching for them to feel okay. Not good, just okay. She would spend every moment of the day, searching for any pain pills. It consumed her, she was meeting shady people, and always getting ripped off. It broke my heart to see her go down this path, and I would flood her with information and support, with how to handle it all, but the drug was far more powerful. She heard someone talk about Kratom on TV, decided to try it with nothing to lose. Within 2 weeks, she had tapered off and completely stopped her pain medication, to the point the following month she canceled her pain management appointments, which meant that there was NO way she was ever getting her prescription back. She couldn't be happier. Her life is back, and even better than before. It makes me cry tears of absolute joy, just thinking about it. She is taken every step with Kratom, to not abuse, and fall into the same traps she did with pain pills. I will never claim it's for everyone, very few things in life are for everyone, but I promise, if you are in desperate need and have tried other avenues, I would take the time and do some serious research to see if Kratom could also benefit you. Without them, my mom would currently be waking up to cold sweats, all of her attention on her phone looking for relief from a fix she can't afford but has to have, with no ability to enjoy the world around her. I am grateful I didn't get to witness how worse it would have gotten. I apologize for the rambling novel, ugh. lol I hope you all have a lovely Sunday/Week. What a great story, thanks for sharing this. And glad to hear your Mom is doing OK. Kratom works so well for this kind of thing. One of the reasons a lot of people fall into heavy drug addiction, is because their prescription is stopped and they are addicted. It forces them to have to seek alternative methods, so heroin, fentanyl from the streets. I hope more people get to see the benefits of Kratom, to stop them following that road. It can also be addictive, but less so than the really heavy stuff.

KRATOM saved my life as well. I read about it in comments of a video, can’t remember which, but it piqued my interest, and I sure did need it. It worked so well for me that I opened a kratom shop! I wanted to have a place that could provide quality kratom at affordable prices, along with information regarding getting clean directly from someone who used kratom to do it. You wouldn’t believe how many people come in needing help bc of addiction. Wait a minute, I’m on SWU - you would believe it! For anyone reading theses comments, kratom can help you get off opiates with zero withdrawals. Still ain’t easy, but it’s worth it. You can get out of it and get your life back! Jonah suffered from depression even as a child. I don't know who was treating him, but he should have never been put on the meds he was taken. A lot of parents bring their children in for meds when the parent(s) should be in parenting classes. So many people want their kids " fixed" because they don't take the time to know their kids. If you're not consistent, how do you determine changes in your child. I worked with a child psychiatrist, and this way too common and it started in the 90s.

I agree, simply because it wouldn't be the first time. It was a conflict from other countries (Latin America), that our military and government stuck their nose in (CIA/Contra), that caused our government to spill tons of crack cocaine into the country, predominantly impoverished communities. This is like the crack epidemic but instead started in the rural parts before spreading everywhere.

@@YerpDerp17 Why did your opiod epidemic start and who caused it do you think? I live in Europe and used to be addicted to heroin but it's far from a epidemic here. It's pretty rare and really stigmatised to use heroin but our government offer pretty good and free help. Rehab is free, tools is free and so is suboxone and metadon. About 20 min from me there's something called "fixerum & rökrum" which is basically a building were addicts can shoot up or smoke their heroin, get access to everything they need from needles, acid, nurses etc. Basically everything they need to intake their heroin in a safe way and a safe environment to avoid overdoses and diseases spreading but also get in contact with the social service, doctors etc if they need help to get out of the addiction. A few addicts get heroin prescribed to them but that is pretty rare since you have to be a hardcore addicts who's been addicted for a long time. It's like the last solution but it's better than if they were stealing, robbing or other crimes to afford their drugs for criminal dealers. Do you have something similar in the states?

Columbian drug runners to cuba and florida by high priced racing boat mobs buddies with political leaders etc. This was the get rich quick scheme and take out the weak in the population control. How's that for true conspiracy? True.

The other thing is, doctors just want to write prescriptions and see you every couple of months. I speak from 25+ years of experience. I hope he can get clean.

I totally know where he’s coming from because I have trust issues. Just about everybody I trusted betrayed me. It’s taken me years of counseling and slowly making new connections to realize that there are still good people in the world.

We had so many pill mills pop up in the South it was mind boggling. Doctors and Nurse Practitioners flooded Appalachia with opiates, not drug dealers. Then the black market exchange started. Talk about a gateway into drug use. Kids were over prescribed and turned into addicted adults. Then you finally shut the mills with very little help or options to addicts. In comes heroin… it is a viscous cycle of greed.

I read one article not too long ago that in one city - I don’t remember exact numbers - doctors were prescribing something like a million pills a month when the population of that city was 25k. Those numbers ARE NOT CORRECT but the prescription to person ratio was like 100 pills a day, per person, and that was if every person in that city was talking them. It was outrageous! Of course people from neighboring towns were coming but there was zero chance that those pills were being prescribed safely.

Suboxone.....NO!!!!!! I know from experience. You're trading in one opiate for another. I was duped. I never thought that my car crash was just the beginning of HELL on Earth. Out of all the videos I've watched, I can't remember anyone else mentioning how embarrassing and humiliating it is to overdose. Regardless of whether people are telling you "don't beat yourself up" or not, it's definitely up there in the list of things that can make a human being feel extremely pathetic. I hope this dude finds his band, he's chill and I fuck with his vibe. I'm more manic usually but when I'm depressed (and even when I'm manic too) I can relate extremely well to what he's saying. I wish I had something I could say that would help this fucked up world, or even just say something that'd make a good ending for this post.

Jonah you can overcome this ❤️ - reminds me so much of myself and my friends or ex friends when I was using. I was on heroin from 13-21. Started on blues, switched to dilaudid, then h. I quit shortly after I overdosed. That experience was just surreal. I felt like it wasn’t real, I was on the concrete outside of a dealers complex. What a shitty way to go. I have almost 6 years clean now. I never thought I would in a million years - I always thought life would be mundane and boring without the hazy lens of heroin. It isn’t though- it’s peaceful for once. There is such a deep sadness that comes from this video and from Jonah. I wish he could find a way out of there, and a way out of addiction.

My little sister's story is the exact same. Jonah is so on point, he knows exactly how he got started with Adderall (amphetamine and dextroamphetamine). For anyone that is not aware, Kratom long term is still prone to addiction and horrible withdrawals just like other opiates. Short term for tapering off heroin or other opiates and sporadically for pain is wonderful. You can still become addicted to it. I'm so happy it has helped so many and hope it continues to. But you are still likely to become physically addicted long term like anything else.

As an introvert, I am surprised that so many people will use the excuse that there is nothing to do around their area. It is like you don't have to be going out and doing stuff all the time. Take some quiet time and self reflect. Or start up something in your community that interests you and keeps you busy. The pandemic wasn't too hard g or me in that sense. I enjoy being home and I enjoy being alone at home as well. It is rare that I get the feeling that I want someone to talk to.

For some of us, this is all difficult to understand. Why? Well, I've worked all my life and I'm 60 years old. The part about "there is nothing to do" part. Try and get some sort of job and you will no longer be bored. Also, really try to get off dope. Your life will never be good when using dope on a daily basis. Just try to save your own life, because no one else will. Now is the time to save your own life!!!!!

Opium production did increase after the American invasion of Afghanistan, but that was because the Taliban started relying on it as a source of income. The US govt was not 'controlling' opium production, as far as I know

Everyone talked about how sensitive he is - his son is TWICE as sensitive as he is - how do you think he’s going to feel ?! His son is a beautiful, special, sensitive little boy, he has no idea what he’s missed out on. But please, don’t feel like his son needs him - he dang sure doesn’t. Jonah, I wish you the best. You seem to have enough wisdom, to know what you need. Praying you will get clean again, perhaps move out of your present environment if you can. Sadly children whom are put on medication at an early age, majority of the time become addicted to a drug. Doctors, take a person off of the medication, yet, the young child, or teenager, is not weened off of the meds, or given therapy. So therefore their euphoric world is no longer, and their minds are addicted to the drug. The child doesn't know how to cope without the euphoric feeling. I also agree with Jonah about the poppy fields, the doctors, medical profession pushing the drugs into our country.

I am very sorry for this guy. All of his problems are always someone else's fault: His addiction comes from Childhood his overdoses come from breaking up with his girl and losing his job to Covid. It seems he uses all "bad things" that one goes through live to justify his addiction. So here we have the old egg and the chicken question... Did his addiction develop because of bad experiences or was the addiction was always there and through some circunstances in his life he ended up like this? I can't imagine the pain he feels and really think this is not his fault. I just wish he gets the support he deserves to come out of this vicious cycle.

Hes also an addict. Me being a fellow ex heroin addict like him. Us addicts are very good at spinning stories around to make us look like the victim. It gets to the point where u start believing the lies as an excuse to keep using. Theres allways someone out there who has had it worse that picked themselves back up and got sober thats for sure.

I dont hear it as its All the others fault in that sense,some ppl are way more sensitive to what life brings you of bad thing,our coping mecanism and the way we feel and handle All these emotions are All so different and he seems very sensitive,yes,I feel very sad too for him,he seems like a good Guy with alot to give,I Hope he finds his inner strenght to see hes life has much more to offer than give up to the drugs,I really do,its heartbreaking see a good soul ends in this hell of addiction🙏❤⚘

I agree to the point of him thinking his childhood time of medication started then. But he should take responsibility for now. If he keeps calling that stuff to mind he will never be fully Responsible. I'll tell you something from the other side looking thru his adults in his life they were at a loss with an out of control child. You hav no idea unless you are a mother or teacher that dealt with these kids and do not believe a child was medicated easily or just to keep him asleep and lethargic. It takes several other instances of trying alternative modifications before medication is even discussed.
