I remember my high school graduation in 1957 : it was a day like this: I took some photos, but i wish i had a camera to tape it : it was such a fun day, the sky was blue : it feels as it was yesterday. I felt so happy that I was looking forward to the next stage in my life. I will always remember that day.

Looking back at this, as someone who started high school in 2001, it looks very antiquated now. When I remember HS in my mind, it feels very modern, just with different outfits and no cell phones. I thinks it's because people are the same inside, no matter what generation it is. The pranksters, the sweethearts, etc. So it feels like we've never changed. But seeing it all together- the music, the cars, the brands, the girls' hair (I did my hair like that too, I can just smell the hair product now!) it takes me back to a time that feels unusually far back. I think it's just seeing g it all at once. Also, I'm sure part of it is because of the film quality. I remember the crisp, clear, real life that I lived. Whereas this is fuzzy and antiquated looking. Yep, sort of an interesting impression, looking back

I was in 2nd grade in 2001. A part of me really wishes I could have been in high school back then and had the chance to grow up without so much technology thrown in my face. The iPhone and smartphones in general became big when I was midway through high school and everyone became completely consumed by the time I was a senior. Watching this is the nostalgia I never knew I had. Thanks for sharing this, what a great vibe
@SaintShaun Жыл бұрын
Honestly same bro, don’t get me wrong. I’m very grateful to be apart of Gen Z and graduating in 2016 so although technology wasn’t thrown in our faces then as of now is a blessing of its own but man… something about the early 2000’s and late/mid 90’s where everybody actually talked to one another, (nothing against them BUT) tattoos wasn’t so normalized and everybody had clear skin, television was actually watchable… hell even the commercials was watchable, you actually needed real talent to make music, social skills was a must growing up, things were just so simple and most importantly you didn’t have to worry about a phone camera being shoved in your face everyday and/or forced to have an opinion on every single thing in the world that’s going on. It was honestly ok to just merely exist and watch tv or sports game or hang out at the bar with your friends. And tho we can do it today (and possibly more) it’s just something about the early 2000’s that gives you a feeling you really can’t explain. I envy those who went to HS/College during those years, I truly wish I could’ve been apart

Watching this is a time warp. I remember watching’Peggy Sue Got Married’ and she’s at her 20th reunion I think and has a stroke but goes back to high school. When I watched it as a kid I didn’t understand why her character was so happy but now that I’m 39 years old and if I woke up back in High School class of 2001 I would be really excited. To see everyone before having kids, losing hair not having to worry about bills and College debt. If I could go back I would.
