I'm not even sure how someone ends up hating fish. It can actually have so many different flavors, depending on the kind of fish, how it was prepared, whether it's fresh or preserved and so on. Is it because someone wasn't exposed to fish enough as they grew up or did they have a traumatic life experience eating fish?

Fish poser.
@allesindwillkommen5 ай бұрын
Just my opinion, but if you really hate fish, you probably shouldn't start getting accustomed to it with the help of canned food. Fish in a can often has a stronger flavor and some "preserved" taste that is unique in its own way. Just try some fresh fish first that is baked or fried from a good restaurant of your choice. I guess something like fried or baked cod or pollock filet would be a good first try as they are pretty mild in flavor. Believe it or not, some generic frozen supermarket fish filets have almost no flavor at all, like a generic chicken breast. That's another reason why I'm not quite sure how you can "hate fish" in general if some of it just tastes like nothing.

Brunswick kippered Herring was what I ate while I was homeless, my dad always ate them as a snack when his paychecks were good, I ate them to survive. A year and a half later, youtube is probably recommending this because I was talking about these the other day. Algorithms are strange, but Brunswick Herring isn't. A tin of that in the park while I read a book before work. Now I eat it as a snack.

OMG!!! I just got hit with a recipe idea! Being a 58 year old Cuban American, I had an inspiration. One of our struggle meals was this but very much simpler with just the cheapest sardines. Take out the Pampa smoked herring. Then put the oil in pot...add however much chopped onion. Then put some salt and pepper (if needed) And add 1.5 - 2.0 cups of water. Bring to boil. Put 1 cup of good rice in. Turn to low, cover tightly and let cook for 15 minutes. Turn off heat and let sit. Then Fry egg sunny side up to over easy. Put rice in bowl, crumble herring over top, add egg. Add what ever the heck you want from seaweed to hot sauce...and enjoy!!! Gonna do it when I go to mamita's house this week. (I take care of her ...early stage dementia). Sorry for the book! 🤪💞💗

The fish thats actually smoked, like the King Oscar or Crown Prince, seems more tightly packed in the can because it doesnt shrink as much during canning. Fish release a lot of water when the tins are sealed in the pressure cooker, and smoking the fish does slightly dehydrate them, so theres less water and less shrinkage. The fish that arent smoked always shrink a little more, because they naturally contain more water.
