Baddiel was on TMWRNJ. He appears briefly in S02E05, on 'Angus Deayton's Authorized History of Alternative Comedy' as a talking head under the name Comedy Store veteran, Marc Alann', while remembering a Bill Hicks parody standup, played by Paul Putner. "President Bush? Should be called President 'Shrub'..."

One time, I saw a video of Brian Johnson, the singer from AC/DC doing a little bit of a fun charity reunion gig with his previous band, Geordie. I made the comment, something like "Brian's career really went downhill after leaving this band. Probably needed the money from this gig very badly." Cue 20+ responses from absolute morons telling me that Brian had joined AC/DC and that I was an idiot.

One of the things I like most about RHLSTP RHLSTP is that, regardless of the guest, there's always at least one thing said that sends me scurrying off into a little wormhole of study, or at the very least a substantial chunk of reading. One of the little byways I went down was off the back of their '24 Hours to Go Broke' discussion. I'd not heard of it and looked it up. The first thing I found was an Independent article that gave the very strong impression of a journalist manufacturing outrage at two men who'd been paid to spend money. What really strikes me about Rich & David's conversation and the Independent article is that R & D say it was mis-timed because it was the advent of austerity, but the Independent says the programme coincided with the trumpeting of the end of the recession. As for the Barry Gibb Twitter thing...oy gevalt. I also found a _really strange_ KZbin bug. One of the comments here says "NO DEAL IS BETTER THAN A BADDIEL". Weirdly, that exact comment, time stamped at '17 hours ago' by KZbin, appears under a trailer I just watched for an old Australian film called Wake in Fright, attributed to a different person and time stamped '4 years ago'.

Newman and Baddiel were NOT the Beatles to L&H's Freddie and the Dreamers. N&B were more like the Stones to L&H's the Kinks, insomuch as L&H wrote and performed much better jokes but N&B got more acclaim.

I never understand some people's obsession with roulette & Co. With those games, there is at most perhaps 30 seconds between "I could be a winner" and "nope". When I buy a lottery ticket here in Germany, I literally have five weeks where I can look at (almost) any advertisement and say to myself, maybe I cannot afford the offered product this week, but there is a hypothetical chance for that next week. (And it's so much cheaper, not to speak of the quite different dress codes a casino and my news agent enforce.)

Fair-do's : This was a goodun! XD *Excellent show fellas!* Also : as for 'Kids Cartoons' (58:30) - I think "Rick & Morty" is a superbly funny, and often really inventive idea-rich comedy show for ALL ages! (there is some swearing, but it's all "Beeped" out - which is *always* funnier anyway imo) - I'm not sure if it's on terrestrial TV here in the UK, but it's *well* worth seeking out a DVD season box (or a torrent if unavailable) - Real Laughter for the whole family of ALL ages! :D

It seems there's some Cambridge rivalry tension here. David Baddiel keeps trying to haze Mr Herring, unsuccessfully though, using some derogatory sarcasm overly. He is interesting and funny when not trying to be whereas Mr Herring is always funny and maintains professionalism
@MatthewMcVeagh5 жыл бұрын
Seemed to me Baddiel kept interrupting, putting himself in the 'leader' role, constantly addressed the audience directly, bigged himself up over and over again, and sought every opportunity to undermine Rich.
