I know Herschel has made his mark and beyond in bluegrass. I also like to hear Dale play mandolin. Enjoyed this post as I watch The Reno band on RFDTV. And enjoy their top notch guests such as Herschel!!

When I first tried to jam on this tune, I messed up bad. I didn't know that the A parts and B part each have a measure of 3/4 in there. Problem solved.

I think it's actually a couple of 2/4 measures. It's a really challenging tune!

I agree, I think it's measures of 3/4. It feels like a common thing in bluegrass tunes to basically cut off the rhythmic structure wherever the melody ends and just do a 4-beat measure from there, before starting the next part. So since in both parts the melodic phrase ends on the 4th beat of the measure, that beat is re-cast as the 1st beat of its own measure. So in the end we have a measure of 3/4 and then a 4/4 mostly-vamp measure.
