I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees the benefit of a smaller lightweight (non-hardcore) off-road trailer to be able to branch out and hit places your larger rig can’t fit.

You guys must be millionaires because that's by far the largest most expensive RV i ever did seen. Didn't know they come in 18 wheeler format

If you want a trailer that is under 3500 lbs you should look at Escape, Casita or Scamp. We have had one of all three of these brands. Started with a 13 ft Scamp, then went bigger to the 17 ft Casita and upgraded to a 21 ft Escape. Loved them all, but when we went full time we had to leave the fiberglass trailers and went bigger.😊

We love our Tear Drop and have gone on 4 month trips multiple times. We’re in our late 60’s. The minimalist lifestyle in a Tear Drop is something everyone should try. We’ve had big rigs and it was nice, but the Tear Drop is so easy and quick. Safe Travels

We had a smaller aframe with no bath room; we go to state parks. We loved it, but the older e We got the roof was harder for us to raise, in our 80 s. We bought a 16 ft sunlike . It’s small but has a potty and shower.

@@whilewestillcan we did modify the table. Many in the Facebook groups have tailored it to their taste. I like as much floor space and “hip real estate” 😅 as possible, so my hubby actually made a table/storage piece to fit where the corner cushions were. I love having rear living. We love the generator option. I knew about the build quality already, and that hasn’t disappointed. We added the newer steps they offer. We really love it!

I can't believe that we didn't see you guys. Matt did say that he thought you were there. Very sad that we didn't see you. We were there for the first 3 days. But it was so hot that we were only able to walk around until noon-ish. We were able to narrow down to a GD and an Alliance. Now we just have to figure out which one. Oh and get a truck to tow it. Hope to meet you guys one day.

The aliner fold up campers do get dust where corners meet. When I researched small, I joined the FB forums for solutions etc for all brands first. Try MDC for better off road quality. And Intech has several things and one new one with aluminum cabinets. I own the Dawn and love that it can be a king bed, twin and a half or two short twins depending on inserts. But Note, the Sol Dawn is the only one in its lineup that is shorter height wise interior. Todd might have trouble in wetbath in that one since the bath is in back whereas all the other Intech have baths in middle with more height. Happy hunting

Todd, that woman wants to go off road and you better make it happen! Shelia, maybe a small airstream? Thanks for taking us along not a big fan of wet baths like Shelia. Are y’all going to make the Tampa show?

I would love to see an overview/comparison of truck campers as an option for "adventure camping" We currently have 44' fifth wheel toyhauler pulled by our Ford F450. There are places we can not go with the toyhauler but since we already have a truck that has a lot of weight carrying capacity a truck camper seems logical. Also with the F450 with a truck camper we could also pull our boat! Have been looking at Host and Lance (really like the Host "Mammoth")

Before you tow anything with the Bronco you better get that recall fixed. If you haven't already. Engine replacement possibly.

Look at the airstream basecamp 16x. Under 3500 lbs with back door so you can throw kayaks etc in there. Bronco can handle that no problem!!

I hope you guys end up with a 4 seasons rated camper. Even if you're not intending to go anywhere cold you could still get caught in a Polar Vortex. Besides tank heaters and an enclosed and heated underbelly they usually are better insulated. If you see a camper that claims to be 4 seasons rated, make sure the dump valves are "inside the underbelly". If you see the dump valves outside on the drain piping, its NOT 4 seasons rated and its a freeze break waiting to happen. Fyi, those Ember campers seem to have it all but, they're on the heavy side.

We are looking for something smaller in addition to the Brinkley but 3500 lbs just doesn’t fit our needs. We’ve been hashing over selling the Brinkley, getting one of the new cottages to leave in Georgia. Get a smaller truck as we wouldn’t need the F450 and a Toyhauler trailer. Selling my Indian is not an option. 😂😂 Rocky does love his Suzuki V-strom. Love the Intech toyhauler but not sure both bikes would fit. So much to think about!!

Howdu!! As someone who use to organize and lead 30 to 40 jeep tours per year for over 450 4x4 families, you must consider your gear tire ratio for flirting with max gvwr 3500lbs.... For example you must consider steep climbs towing at max gvwr with stock gearing and stock tires you will struggle in hill climbs and decents. If you flirt with max gvwr and you want to camp in mountains, i want to encourage you to seek regearing your tow vehicle so that you have more low end torque, high rpms on high way speeds yet ability to tow in the hills. If you keep stock gears with 3500 max tow weight, you will struggle towing small camper. Just my $.02

Am I wrong about their calculations? The trailer is 2800, don't you have to add the weight of all the gear and the total weight of the people you add? I can see it going above 3500.

Our first RV (1998) was a tent camper with wet bath. We only lasted two years with that. You cannot control the weather and here on the west coast we get a lot of overcast wet days. Things just don't dry out. The wet bath was a pain, if you gotta go, you gotta dry it all off first and it's so small inside, where you gonna dry the towels? Shower at night? Make sure you dry it ALL off before you go to bed otherwise if you have to get up in the middle of the night your feet and other parts get wet. IMO, they are just too much work. At 59? Hard NO!

Should add that this is on a Safari Condo Alto - not sure about the type of curtain material they use but it dries in about 15 minutes if we open the bathroom window and run the MaxxFan on high.
