I grew up in the Hershey area and went to the park often when I lived there. If the wind blew the right way we could smell the chocolate at my house. I moved to Maryland 20 years ago, it's grown and changed so much! The Comet was the only coaster back then until they put the Super Dooper Looper in when I was a teenager. The Hershey Pool was next to the park and the Ball Room was next to the pool, I was too young to experience dancing at the Ball Room, but I remember the building. There was no Chocolate World when I was a kid, the tour was in the factory. They gave everyone a Hershey Bar as you left. Fun memories!

You must have grown up in the 70's and 80's! I remember the same and have special memories with my father riding my first inverted coaster, Super Duper Looper! Thank you for your comment.

@@nicoleacosta5545 Yes, I was a teenager in the 70s and lived close enough to walk to the park then. It was a long walk, a couple miles, but I was young and didn't mind. I remember walking there in the morning and then had my mom pick me up when it got dark, such fun times!

We’re Hersheypark season passholders, so this was a lot of fun to see you up here in PA. I grew up going to the park, and now I get to bring my little one (and hoping that she starts to enjoy coasters one of these days)! Also yes, before the park expansion, that covered area with the picnic tables now was where the carousel was. They moved it to the left of the front entrance, toward the left side of that Kisses fountain. Thanks for another fun video!

Hi! Welcome to PA! I’m a brand new follower! Have you been to Knoebel’s Amusement Resort? It is a great small town park with GREAT rides!
@Kyle_The_Mighty5 ай бұрын
Some random comments from a Hersheypark season pass holder (and also one who is losing weight so pays attention to test seats and the like). You didn't get to Jolly Rancher Remix, but their seats are pretty forgiving. It is an over the shoulder restraint, but it's not as restrictive as others are and if you can get the bottom part under your gut, it's good. The Skyview ride does not run when it's windy for some obvious reasons, but what you might not know is that they used to have two sky rides. They had that one which is a round trip ride in ski lift type vehicles. But there used to be another one that was one way, higher off the ground (much higher up, but also I was a kid so everything was higher up) and in enclosed type cages like the skyline at Disney World. The ride station towards the front of the park was the part where you saw the Chocolate Bar character standing greeting people. I don't remember where the further back ride station is. The train used to go through an old west style town facade and then you would stopped by a bandit who would rob the train until the sheriff came out and shot him. That actually kinda scared me as a kid, but they got rid of that, and then eventually even the old west facade was gone as they expanded the park more and more. But the biggest thing that you kinda noticed - they do have staffing issues. The staff they have are all great and I've never had an issue with a staff member being anything other than friendly and great, there's just not enough of them. You probably noticed when you drove there that it's really in the middle of nowhere - essentially a bunch of dairy farms because that was where Milton Hershey built his factory to get local milk. However, a lot of Philadelphians (myself included, although I'm more Philly suburbs) will drive the hour and a half to two hours to go to the park, but nobody is going to drive that far for a low wage park job. Oh and one other thing for the viewers - Skyrush is surprisingly forgiving. I still have a lot of weight to lose but Skyrush is the only coaster I can get on that isn't an older more tame coaster, or a family coaster, or a Disney coaster. Some keys are to sit on the outside wing seat, and then put your foot on the seat next to you and push up and get the bar under your stomach as much as possible and you're good. Oh, and also for the lightning racer coaster - I'm told that the coaster on the right (Lightning) is a bit more forgiving than the one on the left for bigger people. I'll probably think of something else after I hit send, but I'm glad you had fun

I read this whole comment and I appreciate all the insight from an AP! That drive there was nuts! I was shocked at how isolated it really was!

I’ve been here before, like a year ago, but technically not to the “park” portion. I did all the indoor activities like building my own chocolate bar, doing the indoor ride they have, learning the history of Hershey, etc. It was fun, I didn’t even know there was rides until halfway through the day when I saw a coaster😂 I got a picture with one of the characters though. I just love chocolate. Did you know, they (allegedly👀, learned this in one of my business classes, probably the ethics one) used/use child labor to harvest the cocoa? Even knowing this fact myself, it’s really hard to stay away from Hershey chocolate because they own the majority of candies that are sold in stores.

Being a person of a similar height and weight, I can tell you a few things . One if you couldn't fit on Great Bear you won't fit on Jolly Rancher Remix. Two you would wish that Skyrush kept the original restraints, they were a lot more forgiving. For example on the old restraints I could pull about an inch or two on the seat belt, now I need an inch to reach
