I love the fact that when all companies are releasing rehashed versions of their retro designs, Yeezy brand continues with modern designs. These shoes are so polarizing, not a single shoe in the industry looks similar to the QNTM, I absolutely love them. Getting my pair in tomorrow, so stoked!

I just got a pair of the flash orange quantum‘s and I think they’re fire. The one thing that I really like about them is how they are designed really wide with that outrigger on the side I think that Nike can learn a thing or two from the shoe because A lot of lebrons I feel like you can roll your ankle real easy in them and if they had an outrigger like these Yeezy‘s I think that problem will go away

I really like how they're venturing out with the YEEZY brand and making something different for everyone. A basketball sneaker makes sense since he didn't have one in his line and there's always a market for them. I really like them a lot and their futuristic vibe and how they're also stylish! The OG QNTM had primeknit with reflective stripes, the BSKTBL one had a plastic cage and less 3M since that was the reason why it was banned in the NBA. The Barium is a fusion of the two.

It’s a lifestyle version with some elements of the basketball version on the upper like the RPU cage, but it doesn’t have the flatter angle of the ankle AND isn’t padded like the basketball’s too. The basketball’s also have very minimal 3M. All Quantum’s say basketball on the box regardless, which makes it more confusing to most. The 3M underlay on the upper of the Barium has a light 3M to it, while the QNTM lifestyles OG has bright 3M vertically zig zagging instead.

I think the easiest way to determine this is 1) check the top of the box, it will say BSKTBL in bold letters, 2) the ankle collar is much higher. I think the video shows the lifestyle version.

It's the lifestyle version, and I think they had to change the design because there were too many quality control issues with primeknit design found on the OG colorway. The biggest differences between the basketball and lifestyle is the basketball version has a much higher ankle collar and the knit underneath the plastic has little to no reflective elements (watch Brad Hall's comparison video). All of the Quantum shoes have basketball written on the tag and the box sticker, regardless if it's the performance or lifestyle version.

@@BirdieDev Unfortunately, not everyone has the time to research the differences between the two models. I don't blame Hes, considering that sneaker reviews are his hobby and not his full-time job. The only reason why I spent time to look into both models was because I was disappointed when I heard that the OG colorway was a Chicago exclusive and there were rumors of the performance model releasing in the exact same colorway lol

I found that the way the back of the heal is cut in the u shape made my foot hurt when I tried them on. Not sure if anyone else had the same experience. I even went a full size up (since they fit snuf) and still had that issue. I really want to get a pair but if they hurt the back of my ankle I am undecided

It's a basketball shoe that probably very few people will use it for that. It's too heavy. Also in the 1st release the box was branded BSKTBL for the basketball version and QNTM for the lifestyle the differences was more structure of the upper material and less 3m for the basketball variant. These barium ones could also be used for NBA basketball since they also have the reduced 3m.

you have the basketball version cuz the heel isn't reflective. on the jordan melos they got banned cuz the heel was reflective and messed w the cameras. the lifestyle qntms are reflective.

I am a TTS 12 and wear a size 12 in Jordan 1s. That said, I’d recommend to go a half size to full size up! I ordered a 12.5 and they’re a little a bit snug since the front gets very narrow. Hope that helps!

POP QUIZ - Hes since you are the god of “casual not running” please answer the following. What shoe has the most comfortable midsole to walk in. I have yet to find one that beats my adidas eqt 93/17. Ultraboost 1 thru 4 is an unacceptable answer as they are less comfortable FACT. perhaps the UB19 or 20 with more boost although I’ve read their extra boost is less comfy. Very strange. LIFESTYLE... So, this is officially the Yeezy Boost QNTM Barium (Lifestyle Version) Prior to release, Adidas announced that there would not be a "Basketball Version" of the Barium. Per Adidas, the umbrella group that this shoe falls under is "YZY BSKTBL" The model is "Yeezy Boost QNTM" The colorway is "Barium" The version is "Lifestyle" So now, under the "YZY BSKTBL" umbrella, there is the: 1. Yeezy Boost QNTM Quantum (Lifestyle Version) 2. Yeezy Boost QNTM Quantum (Basketball Version) 3. Yeezy Boost QNTM Barium (Lifestyle Version) Unlike we previously thought, the TPU outer pattern on the upper does NOT mean it's the Basketball Version instead of the Lifestyle Version. It's the just the QNTM design going forward. The difference between the Lifestyle and Basketball versions is in fit. The Basketball version is slightly taller and fits more snug for better control on the court.
