Alright guys, so today I'm showing one of my favorite tricks that incorporates the Elmsley Count. It is a really powerful trick that will amaze your spectators, but make sure to keep the performance interesting, since this trick can become repetitive. One tip for making it look better with the black cards, use the 6 and 9 of spades and clubs. Very, very few people can tell the difference between clubs and spades in an Elmsly count especially when they are concerned with the heart cards. Far better than the 7 and 8's your choice of course.

Honestly you can put the black card in order "8, 8, 7, 7" from the right. It will make you count the 8 2x during the first elmsly count rather than count the 7 3x which is very suspicious. When you bring the red card and put down the black card(the beginning of the trick) its also show the 8 rather than 7, which is what it is should be.

I just figured it out, he had the elmsey count wrong. So when you have the cards Black Black Red Black, when you grab your double lift, DON'T put it back in the pile to grab the next card. Hope this helps.

Excellent. Your presentation was smooth as silk. I thought you did an exceptional job of teaching the gag and the basic moves. Your Elmsley Count is right on the money. Particularly the way that you executed it both front and rear sides. It's a really cool trick but I notice when the cards aren't what they're supposed to be. Such as in the beginning when you only take three black cards away, I notice that the card on top isn't what it's supposed to be. And then when you do the Elmsy shuffle or whatever, I noticed that you counted the same card at the end as you did in the beginning:/

yes, thats why to improve, you can pick two of 6s and two of 9s, all black. Or 2 black Face card, cuz face cards only have 1 symbol at the corner, very interchangable

I noticed that too. It's more noticeable in the tutorial if you're paying attention since the top black card is an 8, but then a 7 is seen when placing the pack down.

Boon Kiat try moving the first card then moving next two together behind the first you took out and the last card in front, it's basicly an easier version you can show a bit of white of the card and it just looks like you haven't picked the cards well trust me most people won't notice

After the elms count it looks like u are moving the first card but you need to move the first card and the last two so that when you move the first card to the back you aren’t actually moving it to the back since u are moving the last two as well so basically u are moving three cards in one move

I think its more convincing if you use the 4 kings or 4 queens or 4 jacks instead of 7spades,7clubs,8spades,8clubs because the spectator can remember the posistions of the black cards that is been switch places to each other.

You can also do this trick with 5 Black cards at the beginning but only show the audience that you have 4. That Will make it more convincing but a little bit harder to do.

don't use two sevens and two 8s like that. Make the cards more random and don't count them out face up with a lot of time to memorize, and don't let them care enough to try to memorize. Just indicate that as well as the 2345 of hearts, which you convince them are the cards that matter, you also have some black number cards.

I recommend using same black cards because they might notice that some cards are repeating because of the Elmsley Count. Like for Example If you have spare same jokers.

0:31 is where I stopped and made this comment. I think that the 8 of clubs should be the face up card shown and not the 8 of spades. I think as you make your break, you need to turn the cards over before putting it on the table. It was pretty obvious but great trick I guess. No hate spread tips

+THEPELADOMASTER I understand what you are saying and your point is valid. However I use four black (regular bicycle) jokers. These represent the levels of the escalator shaft. This is natural enough and not unduly suspicious. Don't rush the presentation. The impact of this effect is actually strengthened if you do not rush it. An effect (if it is strong) should be able to fool more than just 'the average spectator. The Elmsley Count is a wonderful sleight but can be potentially compromised by depth discrepancy (trying to hide three or more cards) or by the sharp eyed such as Greyson Ward :)
