I mean I consider Sealand recognised as a country. Fun fact back in the day the prime minister of Sealand a German citizen plotted a cue to take Prince Roy's son hostage. This son the current leader of Sealand Prince Michael was trapped on the country and surrounded by helicopters mercenaries, and speedboats all of which armed. Single-handedly prince michael fought back and regained control of Sealand , then took the ex prime minister hostage . This forced the German government to send a diplomat over to negotiate his release. with that Sealand considers itself recognized as a government by Germany.

It just becomes a little more convenient to get into and out of the physical country, until it gets a lot harder and the water is above the floor of the platform, part of the year it might be like a slip n' slide and they have to build everything higher, hopefully before it's too dangerous to work on the platform. That's all assuming that the physical location is actually used at all by its denizens, of course! I suspect no one goes out there more than a dozen times a year.
