Hexblast Sab or DD were my thoughts for necro season. I DD was getting alot of love so I went Hex and never looked back. Made it to two voidstones and Sirus. Great for farming!

Isnt Flammability on hit NOT supposed to work with mines? So its basically the profane ring with elemental resist procs the hexblast explosion? Or am I missing something here. (Im New to poe)

Sure! Even common boss uniques and bases can be worth a lot early on in a league. Selling carries is better if you have the hustle to do it, but solo bossing is still a very good option that can really pay off, it just requires maximizing that brief window of extreme profitability.

Bandits were reworked, Alira is just 15% ele res. You're best off helping Kraityn initially for the 8% move speed during the campaign, then switching to the bonus passive point in maps.

I think the reason it doesn't detonate is nothing nearby is cursed. You could maybe test with asenath gloves since it curses corpses as well. (Just as a test)

Hexblast will still cast on enemies that aren't cursed, it just doesn't AoE. The reason it will not cast is because there is nothing to target.

had a question before watching the video, and after watching it just got more solid: what's the reason of playing some weird saboteur instead of chargestack occultist? like, none of them has nearly acceptable defence, but dmg potential, speed, aoe, scale of the witch is much more comfortable. btw, witch is also more friendly for respecing build, if you are going to just start with hb miner for a couple of playdays. obviously, all the uniques will cost something, because, like, is it the 4th league hexblast is unaffected by nerfs? tbh, can't wait to see patchnotes with hb nerfed like seismic trap a couple of leagues ago

The main reason is that Sabo performs much better day 1 of a league with full-fledged SSF gear, and it can level as a miner the entire way with a better starting spot in the tree. It gets mine effect, 10% mine throwing speed from its tree, and it is able to take advantage of every facet of its ascendancy passives. It also has a much stronger defensive toolkit than Occultist. Perma-blind, 15% DR, and 10% life/sec are not nothing. Occultist is a great ascendancy, especially once you have some currency and can properly set up as a charge-stacker, but its defensive bonuses include the following: +60% Chaos Resistance. So it's not as good of a pick as Sabo in the first weekend of a league.

Regarding the minion builds, have you thought about Holy Relic? You also need a transfigured gem, but it's a much easier build to pivot out of SRS than, say, BAMA. Like poison SRS gear looks mostly the same as poison Holy Relic gear, so it should be a pretty smooth league start.

Yeah, that was another one that was on the list. It has the same issues as both BAMA and SRS, in that it's very strong, but reliant on a transfigured gem and doesn't provide a group of Large Adult Sons to stand behind.

Yeah, absolutely makes sense for Occultist and is the reason why it pulls ahead of Saboteur as a league matures, it has more scaling potential if you want to take the build in a Power Charge-stacking direction.

Was about to comment that, I heard it somewhere that hexblast getting nerfed. Idk if I'm leaguestarting with it or not cuz I did it in affliction, was really nice. Expedition can be annoying with curse or chaos dmg immunity but pretty much everything else was easy until something oneshots you

Agreed. Even if it takes a small nerf, it's still one of the strongest builds in the game, so odds are good that it will make it through to the next patch just fine!

There are many excellent minion builds out there. My favorite has always been Heralds of Purity. Using them in maps now and they shred. They are a good chunk of my damage. Your intro makes it sound like there is nothing viable out there for running minions. The sky is the limit.

There are tons of good minion builds, zombies and skellies and absolution and zoo and so on. It was more just that choosing one specifically was difficult! It didn't help that the popular builds are minion-in-name-only, and the builds that actually summon a family of Large Adult Sons are all about equal in popularity, and there we are.

I never liked miner over trapper because you had to detonate mines manually. if u can put detonate mine on automatization the biggest drawback for me is done. I tried all the trappers i liked but now i can play miner too. I always need a different build because it's PoE not Diablo. Last minute i dont agree. you can play it all league, it's just an evasion based miner, you dont need to do disgusting sanctum farm or uberboss killing, it's killing all contents, u can farm maps, do contents, kill bosses and do challenges. what else you need?

@@DevilKillAngel Fellow SSF player here, that's crazy bad luck! Are you sure your loot filter isn't hiding it? Otherwise I'd consider doing some low level naps with a ghosted rouge exile kinda tree. I did this early in SSF to farm up a bunch of the "common" but good/build enabling uniques.
