Great as always! Tuning down does give that progression a distinct sound and makes it easier to sing. I have always tried to play it in standard tuning, which puts the melody just outside of my comfort zone.

Nice. That Guitar likes being tuned down a bit too. Thanks for sharing all this stuff....!

Finally, been waiting for a long time for this one. Althrogh it's not my favourite version, thanks for the chords. Btw anybody knows what he thought with "the king is gone but he's not forgotten" ? When I hear this I instantly think of Elvis, but who knows...
@nugnug2219 жыл бұрын
I think it is referencing Elvis too. Mainly because the main verse is "hey hey my my rock n roll will never die, there's more to the picture then meets the eye" and since Elvis was such a major influence to the world and left such an impact that now since he's gone he will ( as the verse states) never be forgotten considering true rocknroll is a freedom music and will always allow for thinking outside the box. Just my opinion though.

Hey JJ request for a tutorial on OHIO including the lead part. Its a cool guitar song and your cover on your PT channel was brilliant. Thanks for the consideration. Cheers.

And the acoustic guitar Neil Young use were? How about yours? Thank you sir!
@jamesjames9275 Жыл бұрын
Neil probably used a Martin D45. That’s what you hear on most of his acoustic songs. I used a Gibson Dove.

When you say it's 'tuned down' do you mean to say, by a step, by a whole tone? It is an even amount, isn't it, and not something between notes? (I suppose I should get a chromatic tuner and hold it up to the speakers, my pitch not being all that great, so forgive the laziness in the question)>
@jamesjames92759 жыл бұрын
Boyce Byerly You don't even have to know how far it's tuned down. He's playing it with A minor fingerings. The very first note he plucks is an A string. Just tune your A string to that, and then tune all the other strings according to that A. It doesn't matter how far he's tuned down, just tune yours to match his.
