Thank you for being a nurse! Your profession is invaluable. As for Steely Dan, not only were their melodies beautiful and the arrangements tasteful; the lyrics often displayed incredible wit and intelligence. Far superior to today's so-called "music," which is abysmal in comparison. Sure glad I got to see Steely Dan in concert!

Sweet '70's and 80's. This is when music was MUSIC!!!! No vocalizers and synthesized voices. Just musicians doin' their thing. I was shocked to find out that Michael McDonald and Tyran Porter of the Doobie Brothers came from this group.

20 is still the first chapter in the book of life. Don't be sad. No matter how bad things may seem on the surface, you can make your life an adventure. I'm soon looking at 50, and everything just makes me feel old, jaded, and tired. I miss the '70s and '80s so much.

Such a funny, bittersweet song. Reminds me of an old, dear friend of mine who fell in love with a much younger woman. I think he was 32 at the time, and she was 18 or 19. There was a definite generation gap. Incredibly different people, but very in love. They took all the ribbing in good humor. He's 55 now, they've been married over 20 years and their kids are grown up. This song has been like the perfect soundtrack for their love. It reminds me of this special couple and makes me smile.

i truly love the song, thank u for the vid,as someone who is 30,i definitely wast around in those days, but i can definitely say that the times since, have become much darker, not only in music which i love so much, but in many other areas as well, unfortunately i fear that this darkness ,will be percieved by many to be light,if one allows it,the choice is up to us as individuals,to not be decieved

This song reminds me of cruising down the streets of Seattle as a kid, in my dad's pinto on a warm summer day... I would look up through the sunroof at the tops of the skyscrapers... We would make our way to a little sandwich shop over in the U-district and get some grinders... End up at Gasworks Park and eat our lunch watching all the boats go by... Lots of great memories...

I was 19, in "82" but I joined the Corps, I dances and cried through this song just by listening. It made all better, (2) canteen showers, once a week flown in hot-chow, and mail. Most of all: Bullets/water/sleep! Then is in the pasted: Today I am at ASU: Senior, Geo-Urban Planning. What a life, I love it. Traveled the world & eliminated negatives, and I was allowed, then transition to civvies.

19 is old enough to do whatever the heck you want. Plus it's an amazing song. Kind of a funky jam. Also, hats off to MemphTenn for the video. His daughter is now about 21 so...well, there's that. The girl in the video at the point where Fagan says "nice" is absolutely the best face for the song and for that moment. Perfect.

Been a huge hip hop fan for 19 years now. Deluded as well maybe, I've shunned other genres thinking that rap was the ultimate to me. It might be the ultimate expressive music, but this stuff is the ultimate, all around timeless type of music I've been in search of for years. Took me a long ass time to find Steely Dan, there have been other artists that kind of swayed me, But not close to this at all. Hope hip hop heads will keep an open mind, hope I'm not shooting myself in the foot, lol. peace.
