For educational use. Optimized for GCEA ukulele. Key of F. Transposed up from the original Key of E. If you want to learn the song in the original key, I would suggest learning the chords in the Key of C and using a capo to move to E. I considered making a play along in C, but the voice became too warped.

Dm is no biggie...just add one finger to your F chord. Bb is understandably more difficult for some people. It doesn’t have to be. I have a tutorial on “Tutti Frutti” coming out next week where I talk about Bb, and it might be worth watching.

Kristen Chavez think of it as an em. You could always remove the last finger and it won’t do much a difference. It has been a year since February that I started playing and I teacher kids ukulele so I understand it looks hard and maybe hard for you to play

@@ukeplayalongs Well, my the sound I hear, for example, the F chord, has quite a high pitch(?) or whatever that was. But when I try to do it in mine, standard tuned, it wasn't like that. Might you know what is it I'm doing wrong? If you do, kindly tell me, thank you!

I've checked and the video is correct. Is there a chance that your ukulele isn't tuned to standard GCEA tuning?

Well, I am using a tuner app,and it says that yes, I'm tuned perfectly. Maybe it's just because of my uke, really... still, thanks for answering my queries. Still gonna do it, even if it's like this.

The capo won't do anything for this play along...it is simply in this key, and you would play the chords that you see.

What’s the strumming pattern?
@ukeplayalongs
@ukeplayalongs 5 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of ways you can strum to it. You can strum DDDD or UUUU, or you can strum DDUDUDU. There is no right answer as long as you stick to the beat and keep your hand moving up and down as you strum (the DU always goes even if you don’t play a strum).

Hi... Found it difficult to switch at first.. but now it's getting better.. played the video over 3 times n played along... Now it's time to get the chorus.. it's quick switching.. so will take some time. But thanks alot for the super easy chords 😍 Would you be able to list down the capo version chords in the key of C ??

Look at the Circle of Fifths. If you want to go from F to C, the move is one "segment" over. Then do the same for the other chords. This is a great way to transpose a song if you can't do so from the intervals. www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwjfw6vC17DkAhWKiOAKHYBLBvoQjRx6BAgBEAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.classicfm.com%2Fdiscover-music%2Fmusic-theory%2Fwhat-is-the-circle-of-fifths%2F&psig=AOvVaw3axadcoVSWreD8dhvmkovX&ust=1567463716006184

I had comments turned off for a very long time. A ukulele manufacturer suggested that I open comments. I do hold comments for approval...normally I'd delete a comment like this, as it isn't positive in any sense, but I think it is good to know why comments only appear recently. And sadly, it affirms why I didn't allow comments in the past and still require approval to publish comments.

So it took me a HUGE amount of time to figure this out. Everyone said DDU UDU, but I couldn't figure out how it fit in. The DDU UDU I've been playing is from "somewhere over the rainbow", and that's a slower version. So DDU UDU technically DOES fit, but you have to speed it up A LOT, and when multiple chord changes happen, you just have to change the chord accordingly without breaking the DDU UDU pattern. It sounds cool. Play it again and again a few times, and you'll get the hang of it. I mean.. if DDU UDU is too difficult, you can do UUUU or DDDD also. That fits easier with the chord changes. BUT... DDU UDU definitely sounds better. ;)

Don’t get too caught up in the singular “right” pattern. You are better off finding patterns that fit the style that you can play, and playing at the right tempo.

@ukeplayalongs
@ukeplayalongs 4 жыл бұрын
You can play part of B-flat, such as just the top two strings. But ultimately, the Key of F uses that B-flat chord often, and many of us can sing well in the key of F, so it is worth learning and playing. My main suggestions are to not be afraid of it, and to let the ukulele do most of the work for you...which reminds me that I still need to record a tutorial for some chords!
