Says every single mom. Now, in your case, you didn't divorce your husband or he wasn't a deadbeat loser, but most dudes still won't want to be a pseudo-daddy. And those dudes who do......probably aren't gonna be dudes with a high self-esteem. I'm assuming you are a Western female. Not only that, your son is now 18. Isn't it a bit too late to get a daddy now? The years are already gone and he is an adult now. He needs to be his own daddy, so to speak. If all he needs is some mentor, that's what coaches are for. Male teachers, pastors, etc.

Okay. So the 1st lady is a successful lawyer because she had the time to put into her career. Once she had a child (on her own), she’s not going to have that time to put into her child without help, that’s where the father is extremely useful. Children are financially, emotionally and mentally draining for someone to want to voluntarily go that route. You don't have someone to share the burden nor the discipline with. Speaking from experience and I'm glad my parents are around to snatch up their grandchild, or my brother who would just come and take him. Omg. This is selfish.. go for it? So purposely bring a child into this world without a father? That can be extremely destructive.... do you see how some fatherless children sre more susceptible to self esteem issues, going down the wrong path and in general just not having proper male guidance can have a huge impact on a young man bc they don’t have someone of the same sex to look to for a role model and how to become a man. A girl without a father can have extreme issues with male relationships bc they didn’t have a proper example of how a man should treat a woman, and in general a fathers love is so so important to young girls. @@bq-9238 thanks for your feedback because I could be wrong. In her question, she used terms such as: "enter into an agreement", "maintain legal rights", and "family law". She should be asking another attorney not Steve. She needs legal advice because the father could change his mind. Bottom line, Steve is a comedian. He gave her a serious answer but it didn't address other options for her such as adoption or sperm bank.

Having a child on your own is fine it’s everyone own choice. I never had a father and it has NEVER bothered me. Here’s a question how can you miss what you’ve never had???? All that father daughter stuff was never an issue as I had the most fantastic mum who raised all 4 of us
@Joy-xu9wk4 жыл бұрын
That was YOU. I know many people who wished they had a dad. When they’re getting married, when they need advice, when they need a tire change, when they need A lot of things. Your mom was exceptional I’m sure of that, however, despite what you may think- people need fathers. Statistics across the board show the worst outcomes for children coming from single parent homes. It doesn’t mean that ALL children who come from these homes are messed up, but statistically speaking 90% of prison inmates for example didn’t have fathers, most single teenage moms, didn’t have fathers. a general life rule (whether your religious or not) that I’ve always applied, is “what it takes to create, is what it requires to sustain”. So it takes two (male and female) to create, it takes two (mother and father) to raise and sustain. You get thirsty? There’s water to quench that, now you may have some soda, but as much as soda quenched your thirst, what you needed was water.

@jnewcomb5 жыл бұрын
@@shunpo9 And she wasn't one of 'em. She says so. But we knew when she said "single by choice" it was a lie. It's hard to believe people would rather say it's a lifestyle than say, "I'm lonely, the clock is running down. I've given up on finding love so I just want to make my own." That's a lot easier to believe. And there's nothing wrong with it. But when you can't convince a room full of strangers you're single "by choice," you've got deeper personal issues to deal with.

I see nothing wrong. It's the same thing as if a woman has a kid with a man who doesn't want to be responsible for a child, and is never around. The only difference is that with a sperm donor, you chose it and can probably afford a baby, when a man leaves a kid the mother didn't choose that. In the end you tell the kid the truth about where they came from, they're smart and times change

Everybody is talking down the woman who wants to have a kid on her own but i don't see the problem. If she got the cash to pay for it , then go for it. Steve was talking about the tough questions the kid may face but life is full of tough questions. Being a single mom is tough sure but it's not impossible nor is it a bad thing. My parents were divorced when i was 8-9 and my mother moved out of state. Did i get the "where is your mom" questions? YES. Did it bother me even a little ? NOPE! I was fine as a kid. On average i was happy. I was even happy that they were not together..... And don't get me wrong, i love my mom. I will always love my mom but i know I would rather they be divorced. So this lady wanting to find a sperm donor speaks to me. I don't have a kid, but if by the time i turn 35, if i don't have a kid by then i will probably do that. I know how growing up with a single parent is , and it is not nearly as bad as people claim it is for the kid.

Being a single mum BY CHOICE is one of the most SELFISH things a woman can do. She is DELIBERATELY DENYING the right this child has to his/her father. There's a lot of successful women and the men nowadays are intimidated by them. Rather than embracing the woman who has worked hard; the men would rather label them as a feminist. So those men then find a woman whose standards are low or not there at all, and puts them down for not doing enough. It's extremely rare that you'll find a man whose not intimidated. I see why she's doing what she's doing. She's getting older, time is not on her side, and she's running into men who are most likely intimidated by her success. She'll become submissive to the right candidate.
