Holy crap guys! I really appreciate everyone that’s subscribing and leaving kind comments. Honestly the mean comments are pretty funny. I understand I cuss a lot but unfortunately I’m not afraid of how I speak and actions always speak louder than words. I've done this before too. Never with a raccoon but one opossum and a bird once. I felt so bad for the bird. He was in a screened in porch and couldn't find his way out. He kept flying into the screen, the walls, and the ceiling over and over. So I finally just grabbed him bare handed. His heart was pounding as he tried his best to bite me, but he just couldn't reach my hand. The instant I loosened my grip even slightly he got his wings free and he was GONE!!! That's the only part I hate about doing this kind of stuff. They don't understand that you're there to help. They think they're about to be lunch and it terrifies them. In the wild that's r exactly what would happen to them. Their predators don't care that they're trapped and they know it.

If you see one limping I learned the hard way it more than likely has distemper from eating after feral cats. We rescued one on a Saturday night kept it till Monday it was really friendly and when the woman came to pick him up she said I knew it when you told me he was friendly and that his back leg looked broken she said the green tent and his eyes verifies that he has felon distemper she said I will have to put him down but it's a long slow very excruciating way to die. She thanked me for trying to save him and helping to keep him from suffering for an extended length of time before death. It's really sad. I am scared to death of them my boyfriend handled it and everything but we had to go get the vaccine at a farm store I can't remember where my friend went but she brought me a syringe full of medication to vaccinate our indoor cat because we walk him outside sometimes. A lot of people have posted videos of raccoons that looked drunk and I noticed two or three of them they didn't look drunk they look like the one that had the distemper that we had for 2 days and the people were laughing because they were ignorant and didn't know but now we know so I thought I would spread the word. This possum raccoon lady was so sweet to that raccoon and had tears in her eyes as she loaded it up and said yes I have to put it down but at least it won't have to suffer another couple of weeks anyway thought I'd share that little bit of knowledge I learned
@whitexchina3 жыл бұрын
@@cyndicamarillo6164 That sounds bad & really sad. I didn't know they would eat feral cats. Raccoons aren’t animals to be afraid of. They are actually amazing creatures……able to adapt to literally any environment. Extremely intelligent, resourceful and loyal. But if you see one, give it its space and let it be. They aren’t going to attack anyone or anything unless they are cornered. ☺️ I’ve heard they love grapes and bananas so if you have some to spare, help a local raccoon out with a meal they will love

OMG!!! I never even thought of that! I wonder how many of these poor babies get killed in the back of the garbage truck? That's never dawned on me until he said it. How heartbreaking! These poor little babies are just hungry and trying to survive like everyone else. We tore down their homes and took over their space and yet some people have the audacity to hate them and consider them to be pests and kill them. We've taken their homes, safety, joy, and food. All of these racoons arent there coz they had no food in wild.rather they have been used to urban life and getting food is more easy in cities.they are nocturnal n people rather sleep at night so more fitting for them. This video brought tears of joy to my eyes--joy that these little raccoons were saved and joy that there are still such good people in the world who would go to such lengths to save these little creatures! My mom used to feed families of raccoons in her back yard (she'd take dry cat food and pour the juice from a roast or whatever meat she'd cooked over it). The mother raccoon would bring all the kids with her. After they'd eat, the mom would take a nap while the babies played in the yard. They'd take a bath in the bowls of water my mom had out for the cats, climb the trees, take all the rags out of the garage and play with them (sometimes they'd leave the rags in the trees). Meanwhile, the mother raccoon would sleep soundly. My mom used to joke that the mother raccoon wanted my mom to babysit her babies while she caught up on her sleep. It sure looked that way! 🤣
