One critical critique. The proper take off is to close landing gear AFTER clearing the hanger doors to prevent accidents. Especially since many ships closing gear opens wings and will cause you to hit the doors. Stop taking off points for closing gear after leaving the doors. Even in movies they do that. At least let them close gear as they leave the doors

There's a bug, right now, where the gear will not draw as retracted until you deactivate VTOL. My Cutty, Cutter, Corsair, C1, A1, et al all draw the gear down even though it's indicated as retracted on the HUD. The animation won't occur until I disable VTOL.

Bro I normaly do pretty well on my landings with my C1, but everytime I ding the tail on a hanger I swear I hear your voice deducting points lol

The bloody tail feathers on the c1. Doesn’t help that the there is minimal distance between ship and hangars walls.

Hahaaa! Seems like the first Cutlass Red could have been me. I remember a laggy server start and pressing U and I took a loooong time to work... I began starting with VTOLS on, since i know you may be watching, hahaha. The Red is the only ship I use and Everus is my home base. Thanx for watching me 😀

There are ways to 'noclip' into many places. I can park my smaller ships inside Microtech Domes, Inside GrimHex, Inside Loreville spaceport, Inside Area 18 Spaceport, Under Area 18, and most recently the new station above Orison. One of the better ones was getting an X1 onto the Loreville train and into the trade building. I spend more time trying to get my ships places they shouldn't be than doing things I should be.

the cutlass red does save the last used vtol setting and vtol does indeed help control the landing, especially inside the hanger but also in zero-g

EH... I was hoping to see.myself in one of these. I generally follow your formula, but i do like to have the gear down until I get out the hanger because it's fun to watch it fold away, and it seems more practical. I like to see a nice transition from hover to moving forward. Without stopping and a smooth pivot motion up.

I don't like to take my gear up before I leave the air shield because the gear down keeps you in the air without having to manually fight the hangar gravity, even with decoupled off. So I can lift up and wait for the door to open them coast out in a smooth motion. Then when I'm in zero-g it apply thrust I can bring em up without dropping.

That antares take-off would have gotten a 1/10 for me personally. Way too quick and uncontrolled. With the antares/scorpius one should hover up rather slowly, wait a second till the wings are expanded and then boost off with fashion. Like a X-Wing.

19:12, it looks like me : going full speed around the harbor, scratching the paint on the hangar, then rotating to get the ramp on the elevator side. If this is me, there's no autoland; I've never used it ;)

For the Cutlass Red, safety would say to not open the hangar doors until you are ready to leave in case the force field fails.

Any time I hear "Hault, you have..." I know a security ossifer wants to scan me. I immediately fly to a solid object and start rotating until I hear an explosion. Popped 4 just today doing that ... still works. I dont even look at them when I do it.

18:57 was funny when you would get to leave a hanger (or land) and they would smack into the hanger door out outer wall too. Just because they would move into the locked distance too.

I think the Gladius at the beginning might've been me. I have that paint and have been camped at Everus using my Gladius exclusively since the patch. Stupid landing gear >.

to be fair about the gear landings you don't want to bring up your gear too soon in case of a power failure now. granted that's not going to happen unless you accidentally turn off your ship, That's why planes do not lift up their gear until they're at a certain altitude. can't wait to you actually see one of my ships, I actively use VTOL and I don't put up the gear until I'm out of the bay. unless I'm on the ground then I don't do it until I'm about 2,000 ft. once I start moving forward the VTOL gets reorientated.

Evetime I fly my Argo Mole I have to use VTOL when launching from and landing in any hanger. The ship won't lift off without VTOL activated, and if I attempt to land without VTOL the ship will almost nosedive onto the landing pad and slide toward the elevator access area.

Not sure if 3.22.1 fixes it, but 3.22 has a bug where when the pilot powers on engines passengers and observers will see the ship start to rotate the bum up in to the air. As soon as the engines get switched off or pilot moves, it snaps back to reality.

You still seem to be generous, not a bad thing. But might I suggest changing your range. Maybe you should just have 1-3. 1= fail. 2= acceptable, 3= excellent. It makes sense because your really only give about a three point spread most of the time anyway. On a side note, every take off and landing I make now, I do as if you are watching.

Is it fair to dock points for doing starmap after leaving hangars though? Most of the time, my starmap refuses to map routes unless i fly out of my hangar, and i have no idea why.
