Heyday Leroy Heming & Junior Moon Disney Cars 2021 Review

Heyday Leroy Heming & Junior Moon from Disney Cars 2021 reviewed by COOLection TV. Today we're looking at Heyday Junior Moon and Heyday Leroy Heming from the new 2021 Disney Pixar Cars diecast collection. Both Junior and Leroy are 1:55 scale diecasts, made by Mattel, with no paper stickers. Junior is a 1940 Ford Coupe and Leroy is a 1955 Chrysler 300, sponsored by Team Revolting. Disney Cars Heyday Junior Midnight Moon appears to be identical to his first release from the 2-pack with Eli Turnpike, although Heyday Leroy is a new name. It appears to be a slight variant from his original single release. For example, Leroy Heming now has a slightly darker beige color, as well as clearer, less rough and textured decals. For all variant collectors and completists, this 2-pack is a must have. Junior is still inaccurate in that he has whitewalls while in the movie he had black wall tires whenever he raced.
Disney Cars Heyday Leroy Heming and Junior Moon appear in Cars 3. In the movie they both appear racing at the Fireball Beach race, before Doc Hudson's career ending crash. Afterward, you can see Disney Cars Heyday Junior Moon in shock of Doc's crash. Later in the film, they appear once again racing at Thomasville Speedway in Smokey's flashback. Here, they are racing on dirt and you can see a glimpse of Leroy in the dust. As Doc makes his way through the pack, he passes Junior Moon, who is right behind Leroy. Once Hud catches up to Heming, he tries slamming Doc into the wall, but Doc pulls off a signature move by flipping over the top of Leroy. Doc wins and that is the last time we see Leroy and Heyday Junior in the film. There is only 1 version of Leroy Heming in the movie so it is unknown if this new release is intentionally called 'Heyday Leroy Heming' or if it is just a mistake.

Thanks. That's a possibility, but I find it interesting how if he was considered a new release, it doesn't have the "new 2021" logo on the card artwork. It's an interesting release for sure and it's a great way to get either of these cars for collectors who missed them the first time. Thanks for watching.

@@COOLectionTV No problem, yea since there's no modern day version of Leroy in the film I have no clue. They could have still called it Leroy Heming, but I guess they wanted to show that it's new. It's hard to tell in the movie with different lighting since he kind of appears as both, but it's a nice upgrade anyway :)
