Obergruppenführer John Smith receives an unexpected guest from Germany: Oberstgruppenführer Reinhard Heydrich. Arriving unannounced so as to avoid a hero's welcome, Heydrich inquires about the assassination attempt on Smith's life. After being asked about the real reason why he is in the American Reich, Heydrich explains that he has come to take Rudolph Wegener into custody. As Heydrich takes his coffee, Smith notices that Hauptsturmführer Connolly seems unusually familiar with "the man with the iron heart".

In every futuristic Nazi scenario I see, no mention is made of the extermination of the Slavic peoples. It is always either the Jews or blacks. I am not denying the particular tragedy that faced the Jewish people during the war, but it would be nice if the millions of Slavs murdered received recognition too

@@krzysztofkowalski6681 Just because the Nazis made use of Slavic collaborators does not mean that they did not want to ethnically cleanse them. People forget that Germany's main goal was not the cliche of conquering the world. Their primary objective was to make a vast eastern empire and gain Lebensraum, or living space, in the east. According to Generalplan Ost, millions of Slavs would eventually be starved, murdered, or deported

@victordonavon292 3 жыл бұрын
Well think about it. One that's a small cup (not exactly something that you would stuff more than one sugar cube in and sugar cubes are larger than they appear from a distance). Two the fact that only precisely four cubes of sugar were there and were in perfect alignment and row with one another rather than in say a sugar bowl. Three, please note the tension and diction of the characters involved that indicates a power struggle. Nonverbal communication exceeds 85% of all communication. Four, please take into account the history of Heydrich Reinhard who as noted in the show was even called by Adolf Hitler, "The Man With the Iron Heart." And that was not without reason. Each component by themselves perhaps speaks little. But together they produce powerful variables that gives a vivid picture. So yes the storyline here was thought out well and the suspicion on the part of John Smith was extremely warranted.

i can only say what i was saying in an other video: "imagine being able to conquer the states, having the world's best army with large amounts of nuclear bombs, and all of sudden you lose it all to citizens of amerika. same with japan but without nuclear weapons (or i would say with only 1.). great series, but both the germans, both the japanese were shown as weak and incompetent. reminds me of the first order from star wars. in this timeline, the partizans could have almost no success, since neither empires were in war, so could use large number of policemen or army against them. and dont forget that they were dictatorships, thed "did not need to follow the law" when investigating a crime. i really would like to watch a movie or series about an alternative history, where the "good" is defeated. just like infinite war."

The series really went downhill the more you learned about it. Japan having this much difficulty in building the bomb is absurd. Granted the original novel is from 1962 at the time it was assumed that building the bomb is a process that only the most advanced economies could achieve. Otherwise you would have to steal the data.
@o-hogameplay185

@@florinivan6907 according to mark felton, both germany and japan were on the path to build a bomb. They could enrich uranium to 20-30%. For bomb they would need ~80%. A few more years and they would make ot too. My biggest problem is that the empires are incompetent (especially japan). They get overwelmed by some rebells. And even the rebells somewoh got better equipment, and very successfull, even without a millitiary leadership, and without any of proper millitiary personel. While japan has a ton of experienced leaders, and soldiers that are fought in a war. Remember, the war is still on in china at some levels. Even if japan changed, and less brutal, they csn not leave all the resources that can be obtined from amerika. And at the end the nazis just sayig: "well, we were nazis for 30 years, lets change it" what?! Even if a small group wants to change the reich, the same thing would happen as the walkürye in our time line. And some thing that are minor problems for me: nazis calling themselves nazis. I think it is obvious ehy it is a problem. 2.: The japanese navy should consist mostly of carriers, and not battleships. Yeah, jamato looks cool, but it is roughly useless in combat

They really should have made a bigger deal out of the factors that forced Japan's withdrawal, i.e. perpetual insurgency in China and the inherently unsustainable logistics of maintaining an imperial state on the opposite side of the Pacific from their home territory. (In real life, they were already stretching themselves to the edge of effectiveness when they attacked Pearl Harbor.) As for the Nazis, we see some political splintering and infighting - essentially the monster turning on itself and eating itself alive a little bit - but arguably even by the end of the series, they haven't really "lost." They divvy up the Reich into separate but cooperating states.

only in your fantasy dude. The uniform variant in use at the start of the war was the M1936 pattern . This had replaced the old World War I-style and Weimar Republic-style uniforms (M1920 and M1928) in the mid-1930s, when the German Army expanded massively after Hitler effectively tore up the remaining provisions of the Versailles Treaty. And No Hugo Boss had nothing to do with any uniforms of the Heer. As the war progressed, greater economies were introduced due to the ever-growing shortages of materials and labour. The first practical result was the introduction of the M1943 Uniform, made up of a tunic, trousers and shirt. The tunic became a deeper gray, had six buttons, the pleats on the pockets were removed, it was cut less full, the skirts were shortened and the dark green facings were finally fully removed. Artificial linen or cotton liners gave way to artificial silk or viscose and the materials were generally of inferior quality and became shabbier, quicker. The M1936 Greatcoat was really a relic of the old Prussian military tradition of a smart long coat, unsuited to the demands of modern warfare.

One of the ridiculous things about this show is that German Nazis and Japanese can speak English well. The Nazis and the Japanese were fascists, and since they were fascists, I don't think they would make an effort to speak English. In a world where the Axis won the war, English would be as unpopular a language as German is today. Since German is the world language, different nations in the world spoke German to communicate with each other. Just like today, different nations communicate with English as a common language.

@@jake.s7065 Not quite - the SS switched from the iconic black uniforms to grey in about 1938. The black uniforms might still be worn for certain dress occasions but the service uniform was grey. The sleeve diamond is of course for the SD - security service which a few departments were grouped under including the Gestapo, Sipo and the Kripo. While senior officers of the Gestapo would indeed wear this uniform, most rank and file members wore plain clothes since they were in fact Secret State Policemen. Incidentally, SD officers below the rank of Standartenfuhrer would have a blank collar patch on the right instead of the usual SS runes and the sleeve diamond on the lower left sleeve. This was to mark them out as being in a technically seperate branch from the regular SS personnel...

It's more of a casual use, the full raised arm being the more formal or fancy version while the other is more relaxed, typically used by senior officers and party members.
