In Another story, Bramha ji was cursed by Lord Shiva for telling lie that he seen the end of Agni Linga ( Linga of fire that spread across all Multiverses of Creation) STORY: The answer to the following can be found SHIVA MAHAPURAN which is the highest text relating to Lord Shiva and deeply discuss the origin of universe and other phenomenons. Before going into detail lets us know what the five head of deity represents. The five heads face main five directions North, East, South, West and Upwards. Each direction represents one of the Mahatattva (5 elements of basic creation) those are Jala (water), Agni (fire), Prithvi (solid), Vayu (gas) and Akash (either or bounding element of all). The upward head shows Akash tattva or the Isha head of deity. Brahma was born from a lotus which grew out from the navel of Vishnu (garbhodakasayi vishnu) When Brahma was born he believed that lotus was his mother. When he descended from the lotus he found Vishnu. Brahma in his ignorance commanded Vishnu that he was his CREATOR and he should worship him. Vishnu refused saying that Brahma you are mistaken and you should not talk like this. This resulted in big fight between Brahma and Vishnu. At the climax when both the deities where to use there Supreme weapon a column of light appeared and the energies of their weapons where absorbed. Seeing such a big column of light who ends cannot be seen as it went across the all the lokas through the universe Brahma took the form of the swan and fly upwards to find the end and Vishnu took the form of varaha (boar) and starts digging downward to find the end. This column of light was the first Jyotirlinga which as no end and beginning. As Brahma flew upwards when he reached Satya loka he could not go further upward and was unable to find the end of the Jyotirlinga. There he met ketaki flower whom Brahma convinced to lie on his behalf to Vishnu that he found the end. Vishnu on the other when down till patalalok but was unable to find the end of the column of light. When they returned and met, Vishnu told the truth that he was unable to find the end. Vishnu is satwa guna always pure, but Brahma lied that he found the end and Ketaki became his witness. Therefore Vishnu acknowledged Brahma to the Supreme one and done Sodas upachara (16 offerings) to Brahma and the moment he touched Brahma’s feet a fierce looking person emerged from the Jyotirlinga he was Bhairava, one of the forms of Shiva, and he was very angry at the lie of Brahma and he cut his upward looking head, the Isha head of Brahma. Immediately Brahma realised his mistake and prayed for forgiveness. Bhairava also cursed ketaki only to be used as an offering to Brahma only and no other deity. After that only agni (fire) was to used as sakshi (witness). As Brahma lost it fifth head he lost his Ishatva and was traped in Satya loka. He cannot go beyond that. Brahma has rajas guna and lacked satwa gunna so all his creations will be destroyed in time. That is reason why body dies but soul cannot. Body is created by Brahma but soul, atma is part of Vishnu. There are many stories to why there are very lesser number of temples dedicated to Bramha than any other supreme divinities. One of them is the "Lingodbhava" Story(The appearance of a Supreme Divine in an endless pillar) At a certain time, a huge energy pillar similar to thousand flames arose amidst the primordial space where Brahma & Vishnu were to find one end of the energy pillar. Vishnu took the form of a boar whereas Brahma took that of a swan & they went to opposite ways to find the beginning/end of the pillar. But the energy pillar had no beginning nor an end which is why Vishnu was humble enough to admit his failure but Brahma ended up lying which resulted him getting cursed to not becoming able to be worshipped by masses. I shared the story very briefly though but that's what it is. There are many more temples which not only house precious material wealth but also powerfully consecrated spaces that empowers our lives in every aspect. Btw, you look so pretty in this color! 😊
