Heym 88B/89B double rifles

Thanks for posting Charlie. The guys at the big game club shoot Heyms and they are great rifle. The Blaser S2 which I've regulated in 375H&H you can regulate yourself with an allen key and torx. Now the blaser mounting system patent has elapsed its probably time Heym, like Sauer 505 adopts the Blaser mount system. The SEM is just way too old now.

I own 3 Heyms, unfortunately not one of their Africa double rifles, but a super over-under rifle B26 (which they don’t manufacture anymore) which shoots straight even if you shot a dozen shots at the range and the barrels are very hot (+ a Drilling and a classic bolt action SR21) . Been to their factory, they are brillant and I recommend to visit them and buy a gun while this kind of handcrafted artisan gun-making still exist. It’s a dying art to build guns like this. The bolt action guns are truly great value.

Depends on what you mean "modern". There are some like Valmet that use a screw arrangement. You can fiddle with it yourself or let a gunsmith do it.

Have had a Heym bolt action rifle for forty years. Does its job more accurate than me.

These rifles look very nice, but do they have intercepting sears? I have seen some really poor results from these rifles in larger calibres double discharging which should not happen on a properly set up double rifle.
