Hi Cheryl. This was no where near as good as PCT but nice to be different.

Wow! What a great video. I thru hiked the Heysen in 2021, but I learned alot from your video. I will share it. I did not experience many of the negatives you anticipate. I hiked Northbound in May and June.

Glad it was helpful. I found this hike pretty challenging mentally but I am glad I did finish it.

I followed your PCT hike and would have been happy to follow you again on any trail, but the Heysen Trail thru-hike is exactly what I needed! I hiked the Bibbulmun Trail (followed by the neighboring Cape to Cape Trail, which I recommend) a few years back, and loved it! One of the best maintained trails and trail shelters I have ever experienced. Fantastic flaura and fauna! The only con: a lot(!) of forrest road walking. Ialso, it was a very easy thru-hike (yes, that can be a con). I was thinking of hiking the Heysen trail, but the vlogs I've seen gave me pause. It looked wind swept and barren. Eagerly awaiting to follow your experience!

I agree the videos on KZbin don't do much to sell the Heysen Trail. Hopefully I will have a different perspective.

Wish i saw this earlier i could have waved at you as you walked past the Barossa. I'll certainly watch your other videos now. You've probably worked out by now that it is pronounced "Hi-sen" Trail. Regards.

Hi David. Yes I was quickly educated on the correct pronunciation. I should have researched properly first ha ha
