Whaaaaat can be done to get rid of transformer hum ?

There was a short in one of the antenna coils. I fixed the short in the transformer.

I don't think the hum is bad. Most old receivers like this have some audible hum.

Sand paper on the bezel will clean up that rig kg6mn

It was covered with cigarette smoke residue. When I first got it, I used abrasives to clean it up, but I got carried away and took off a bit of the paint beneath the big HAMMARLUND.

Outer edge is not dirty -- the paint has worn away.
