Wohoooo...that was beautiful. Love the Panorama you Video recorded with the Drone. The Roof Top Mount on your Car gives the Antenna perfect Grounding better than Mag Mounts do. The MFJ-1979 Telescopic Whip is a fine working Antenna, Kevan. Keep up your great Work. Happy Sunday Evening & 73 de Your Friend Uncle Guenter 💯🙋♂

@@2e0wmghamradioandkayaking85 I need to have one for myself but haven't made my final Decision yet which one to buy. The Palet with Offers is huge and confusing as well if a Guy like me doesn't know too much about Drones. Just want one for Video Docmentaries and to fly Fishing Line or Para Court over the Trees to get my Wire Antenna as high up as possile.

I've got the whole range of MFJ telescopic whipps really handy for some of the different places I operate from, I also use the MFJ-63 loading coil with the 17ft whipp extends the range down to 80,60,40 and 30 meters, also use a slide winder which works really well with the 17 and 8 foot whipps I always use a common mode choke on the lower bands at the antenna end helps out with ground current .

Hi Adam, in the past I have added coils (Buddipole) to get onto 40/80 but I find it too much of a compromise so tend to use dipoles, or sometimes on 40 a quarter wave vertical. As well as a Buddipole I also have a Superantennas MP1 which has a sliding coil, between the two antennas, both with 3/8 fittings it is great for experimenting but again I try to go for full size antennas. Between the car roof and the roof lining I have a large ferrite ring as a choke, it works a treat👍

Not many people would be willing to drill a hole through the roof of a late model vehicle just to make a few ham radio contacts, methinks. I think it would seriously affect the resale value if you ever go to sell it.

All the cars I have are one stop away from the scrap yard so I have no qualms about it😊

Are you collecting radios Kevan? Out of interest, how much power where you running on 20/15m?
@2e0wmghamradioandkayaking85 Жыл бұрын
You can never have too many radios Mike, the optimum number being one more than you have at that that time. The first station was worked with only 5w and the rest with 35w. The lower the power I use the more of a kick I get, especially with the DX. I regularly work the USA and Canada on 5w from the packing shed and other saltwater locations.
