This was some of the best flash over footage I have ever seen on KZbin! Thanks for posting it. The advice to use a straight stream instead of a fog seems counter intuitive, but is really useful.

What made the fire pull towards him while he was spraying at the end?

So by using the wide fog pattern he is moving a bunch if air into the fire. Two things going on. 1) thermal layering. Up high is supee hot and by moving all that air he moved the hit gases around the room too 2) with that floor vent being the only source the fire wants to go too the oxygen via flow path. So by using a wide foghe is feeding fresh air to the oxygen starved fire which is then jumping towards that source of air
