I had a couple of golden sebright chickens as pets as a kid and when raised up and held a bunch they become some of the best shoulder riding buddies a kid could ask for.

Hello Guys, One time many years ago when my daughters were young I let them order chickens from a hatchery. They picked Bantams. I couldn't go back on my word to them, so I was the very lucky owner of 26 mixed Bantam's. Half or more were roosters. So for years we had a flock of bantams. Live and learn. My point here was We had some very beautiful Sebrights and they were very friendly with my kids.

This is weird but the first time I saw a Sebright I was just mesmerized. I couldn’t stop staring and talking about it! So different and beautiful, I just love them! 🥺

I have a Golden Sebright hen and rooster. She lays one egg every day. Recently she began setting on her eggs, so I left them in the nest. She had ten and 3 hatched about a week ago. She started taking care and her babies and wasn't setting on the remaining eggs, so I tossed them. She is being a very attentive mother so far. She is pretty bossy with me when I am giving them clean water and food!

Beautiful Sebright. I’m told, there’s also lemon yellow laced? Haven’t seen too much information online or on KZbin. Is there such a lemon yellow lace? Thanks

Lemon (or Citron) Seabrights are not a recognized color. They are a dilution of the gold color that happens when crossing silver & gold (not sure of the exact crossing). They are good looking birds!

@@HobbyFarmGuys ah thanks. I’m new to Sebright. Love your video. I’ve seen a pair of golden live but not yet silver. Then googling I learned about lemon, but no hits by “lemon”, now i can see few citron on KZbin! Big thanks. I also watched some Vietnamese and Indonesian KZbinrs, they said trying to mate silver and golden and never results! Maybe a cross breed not possible? So I’m still curious about citron’s.

I've always loved the Sebrights. We have Malaysian Seramas but ..chicken math and my husband wants a Sebright.

My 2nd favorite chicken I breed next to Cemani. Well tempered hens but roos can be temperamental if not raised lovingly. Less hen feathered roosters seem to have better fertility than the show hen feathered. In energy, 2-3 hens make up the destructive quality of 1 big hen. Mine are confined to an aviary. Higher protein feed and a smaller gain scratch, but mine do like peas. Probably the most beautiful flock on my property.

We have serama mixed chickens The male is a frizzle The one hen has black skin and came from a mixed silkie flock but is tiny like her small more serama looking one .....i really enjoy having these 3 the hens are sitting on quail eggs and a few of their own lol They are small enough to keep inside the area of a large brooder I plan on removing the rooster soon so the hens Can raise the chicks in peace

Many of the online hatcheries sell Golden Sebright chicks. McMurray, Cackle, Hoovers, and Dunlap hatcheries to name a few. They will ship them right to you.

All but 2 or 3 of those were of any quality. Most were long back hatchery birds. If they are long in the back they are most often to large of a bird to even be considered sebrights. You did good on the video I just hate seeing hatchery birds being promoted as quality sebrights.

My sebright hen lays about 4 or 5 a week and mine has yet to go broody and shes at lest 2 or 3 im guessing

Like are the sebrights just not good at hatchings babies a everything I find says nth but bad things about them so if you don't mind and if you got the time could you explain it if not it's ok

Seabrights are a breed that will rarely go broody. In nature, when animals are subjected to natural selection, traits like brooding are necessary for survival. But when humans develop breeds for specific traits, they focus on those traits, and not others. Seabrights were developed for a specific appearance, so broodiness and mothering were not important. The instinct was essentially bred out of them. So the only way to ensure you can hatch chicks is to invest in an incubator.

​​@@HobbyFarmGuysgot a question for ya if you don't mind my sebright rooster is losing feathers on his neck and chest and it's been like that for a while and I got 3 other roosters beside him and he runs up and down the wire one of the roosters is a old English game bantam and he drives himself nuts I don't see how he isn't dead he is always running up and down the wire but he ain't losing feathers and I check for mites and didn't see none hope I ain't bothering you 🙏
