Just wanted to let Jeff Curnow know that Rolf and I went through school together - he was one year behing me, and his Dad was our JH band director. When I was in 7th grade, Rolf would come over after school once a week and we started a brass quartet that stayed together through high school. Rolf and I also played the Vivaldi with the Seattle Youth Symphony. I played co- or principal trumpet in the SYS for 6 years. When Rold got in, he graciously split the book with me, although we both knew he was the better player. However, I felt maybe I had something to bring to it as on orchestral player which he didn't. I've heard most of the greats, including 4 summers in Chicago studying and listening at Ravinia. I don't think I'm overstating it to say he is one of the greatest trumpet players the world has ever seen. I went on to play 2nd trumpet with the Seattle Symphony. And, listening to Gilbert Johnson was one of the primary things that made me want to pursue an orchestral career. I wish the sound of this video could be cleaned up - I can't hear most of what you are saying. Congratulations on such a stellar career! Jeff Cole

Suggestion: Stop cutting to the interviewer so damn much. I'm not here to see him, and it's extremely distracting. Let us see the subject for more than a nanosecond at a time. I don't care about the interviewer. Thank you.

Randy, I appreciate that you visited my channel for Jeff’s interview. I didn’t expect that this format would incite such anger. Zoom is quirky about who it highlights, so I had no real control over this. You are always welcome to listen to the audio only podcast versions of these interview. Thank you for checking out studioHFL.
