I remember building one of the 00 hg. Aside from color inaccuracies it was a surprisingly good kit. Good, clean and fun kits to build but need a lot of paintwork to shine. Great posing btw!

Yep, a good foundation that still stands up to the test of time if you give it a bit of TLC and thank you, took me a while to rip those poses from pictures and get them right

I feel like an entry grade of this can be easier to make nowadays. I mean douboe v fins like entry grade strike and just may be or may be not accurate clear colored parts in entry grade format will make it great

@@mj2005gundam of course we know bandai can give clear parts cuz of ichiban kuji EG strike which i built just recently and its just better than rx78-2 in many ways it doesn't feel like EG more like proper HG. An exia or OO head is easy to make now that they made the double v-fin of the strike possible. And backpack they can fix in their own time

This is my absolute favorite from the 00 line (the 0 gundams being close second), and despite being a relatively older kit it still holds up pretty well

In the past I have this kit as well. But.... It already became part of my shin oo diver ace. A Combined kit with 00 raiser+00 seven sword+00 diver ace+00 Sky 😎

Its great that u r reviewing these old hgs really great as OO series have a lot of potential for customs but it does require a lot of work. And know which backpack connection is required by each kit is important

Woah, just stumbled upon this review on old HG 00 Raiser kit, I didn't expect the review would be this good and discovered how amazing it is despite being outdated kit. I had the knock off HG version and my experience is not very good as of the review on Original one but now I appreciate the knock off kit more than hate it because of this review.

I'm glad I could bring the HG 00 kits back into the limelight. They were really underappreciated for their time, and I really hope Bandai reissues more of them apart from just either the S1 Gundams or the 00 variants.

Couldn't find the 00 Raiser kit with the GN Sword III package, but would the 0 Raiser kit work with 00 since it's compatible with the latter if 00 Raiser with GN III isn't available?

The separate 00 Gundam and 0 Raiser can dock, but you'd lose out on the GN Sword III and all the beam effects if you acquire it like that. It's best to get the GN Sword III version, the Condenser Type, or the Trans-Am Raiser for the full play package

Also for the seven swords, they're also their own kit to grab from what I can see but keeping tabs for availability since Amazon is the only major market I know to have overseas products readily available for purchase in record time.

Full accessories is on oo raiser condenser type. Same package as oo raiser+ gn sword 3, with additional gn condenser parts

Ah yes, one of those kits I owned in my early Gunpla days; just too bad I broke the right arm. But in your experience, which one ages better? Which one stays sturdier and more solid longer? This or the RG?

The HG, come on. So long as you don't act like a kid like I did many of my previous 00s, the HG will last longer than the RG by a long shot

I know its late to ask but can we equip 0 raiser on a strike gundam or may be ariel backpack with that single peg

IIRC, the peg of the 0 Raiser is larger than 3mm, and doesn't have the reach for acting as a striker pack. The only way you can cheat around that is use the adapter from the HG Turn A Gundam Shin for making the 0 Raiser universally compatible

iirc, 00 Raiser is probably the best bang for your buck, 7 sword variant is also cool, however it's main feature(GN Buster Sword) is way too unwieldy for the kit to the point you would actually need a dedicated action base to support it if you want to pose with it. or if you can't decide there's also 00 XN Raiser where it include both seven sword and raiser's package plus XN raiser exclusive stuff. 00 quanta full saber is also a good pick.

The rg version has the early real grade face vents. I mean the vents are real hole and not panel lines. Because of that bandai made the space between stripes quite large for durability i guess. Making the face not as accurate to the anime and sometimes IMO uglier.

How did you colour the clear plastic that covers the green stickers on the legs / arms? Also for the red piece on the head? My kit just had them come clear. Am I missing something?

I've painted the forehead piece with the Tamiya Fluorescent Red spray, while the clear pieces were painted using the Molotow Fluorescent Green marker

I realize the 0 Raiser pack has a single peg. I have an HG Aile Strike (unbuilt) and that has a single pegged slot so, can the 0 Raise pack be attached to the Aile Strike Gundam?

The peg will fit, but I don't think it can reach. You'll need an extender or something to do that

Any variant of the HG 00 Gundam, hands down. Doesn't matter if it's the Raiser, Seven Sword, or whatever, the HG 00 Gundam mold is just that good

I would agree for different forms. I tend to like having just one kit of a certain design, which is why I left my RG as the Raiser, and have the HG as the XN Raiser
