HGV LGV CLASS 2 Potential Earnings Hourly / Salery New Driver Advice

Mate I ve done my license for a hgv class 2 done my cpc ,got drivers card ready but when I looked around for jobs here in Shropshire most pay 13. £quid per hour 😢are you kidding me I get paid over 14£ per hour in current job driving vna combi forklift in a warehouse with steady hours and no responsibility,working morning shift ,overtime being paid at 21£per hour,i ve applied for many jobs and one agency called me between sending over 100cv’s because I have no experience!!this is industry is falling behind big time.

Great information. Im recently passed class 2. Im doing a ADR course this week. So hopefully. That can push th wages up a bit. The only thing im worried about is the reversing and maneuvers. As there not like the revers on the test. Do you think i should try some haulage first to get a bit of experience first?

I just passed my class 1 in nov there and I must admit….I hate it. It’s so fking boring man. Thinking about packing it in.

Bin lorry drivers are getting 30k for job and knock min 8 hours pay. Best job a lorry driver will ever get 😂. Some of the lads down south do 3-4 hours then home 😊

That's good, not up here, when I did bins, earliest shift was 5 hour but that because they cut corners and had easy runs

Class 2 at the mo hull area take 600 plus after tax but that is tramping 2-4 days no weekends cant get on class 1 so it will have to do for now....

If your ok with tramping that's not to bad, class 1 will come with time
