It is good to hear the viewpoint from the guest where social activities are non different from spiritual activities. It not only widens our scope to perform service but also reduces conflict in the mind by not separating the two. There was one thing that struck me though when listening to the guest. He says that we do not do social service because of compassion but we do it because we do not want to see God suffer. I am trying to understand why social service due to compassion should be negated. Yes, I want to serve the needy as this forms the body of my God and I do not want it to suffer, that is OK, that is love for the God. How does this love for God translate into compassion for the needy (or not) is the question. The other point the guest makes is to accept what ancestors and elders have given us as acharam and practice it without questioning it. This is a point well made not to lose the hard work done by the previous generations. 🙏
