You really need a microphone for audience responses to convey the full event - otherwise its a bit one-sided!

I had not one, but two microphones for that purpose. Unfortunately, despite testing in advance and verifying they worked, both had too much noise to be useful on the recording. So instead I used the audio from the presenter's mic, but generally bumped it up by 15-20 dB when audience members were speaking to make them audible. I may have missed some of these instances (which you presumably noticed here), but I am pretty sure I got the vast majority throughout the conference. At some point I will try to figure out why those microphones failed. The camera I had them connected to does not have live VU meters or audio monitoring, so I didn't notice this until to was too late. Unless someone wants to volunteer to buy me a new B camera to match my more capable A camera, there is the potential to be problems like this.
